I’m running HA Supervised in Ubuntu, currently at core-2021.2.3. Snapshots have suddenly become “blocked from execution, system is not running - CoreState.STARTUP”. Though it otherwise seems to be working fine, HA has been in that state for over two weeks.
I’m uncertain what has caused this state, would like to perform a clean shutdown, but all attempts to shutdown, restart or update HA result in a similar error.
I found how to shutdown : Under Developer tools / Check& Restart / click Restart. Next under “Restart Home Assistent” click Advanced options: There you find Reboot and Shutdown option.
Its perfectly hidden! A small change in the text of the restart page could make much easier.
The Home Assistant UI has evolved a lot since my original post two years ago. The same shutdown/restart menu options existed then, though under a different navigation path. At that time, my Home Assistant was in a bad state, would refuse to restart or shutdown (see this related post, if you’re interested). My only option was to reboot the host; Home Assistant would start up at host boot time, but wouldn’t reach a clean running state.
My post here was to ask if there was an undocumented “force it to shutdown even if it doesn’t want to” option I could used, to which I never got an answer.
But was locating the shutdown/restart your actual reason for posting here?
