How to reset z-wave completely

I run a hass.io instance 0.58.1 and just got z-wave added with 1 node. During testing and setup I managed to screw something up and now I want to do a “reset”. That means, deleting every setting/entity and start all over again.

How to do that? Or what is the best way to start all over?

A “reset” would be done by:

  • Use Remove Node on all your devices
  • Shut down Home Assistant
  • Delete zwcfg*.xml
  • Follow the instructions for your Z-Wave stick to factory reset it

This worked for me. Didn’t get to reset my Aeotec Z-stick, my single node was still connected. But it started me all over in HA.

Thanks for the help

Note: If you’re trying to reset the Aeostick Z-Stick Gen 5, you must unplug it while resetting it! I didn’t realize this and it wouldn’t reset correctly.

Unplug the Z-Stick, press a paperclip into the reset button, hold for 20 seconds until the light flashes solid, and it’s reset.

I tried this, but the Remove node seems to not work - nothing happens.
