How to use HA as NMEA server to show another router's geolocation?

Hello!

I have a Teltonika Router with geolocation tracker that offers position forwarding to an NMEA server:

Does anyone know if/how HA could be used as server and display the Router’s location?

Thanks for your helpful hints! :+1:

PS1: HA runs on an Raspberry Pi 4 that is connected via ethernet cable to the router. It would be nice if an easy solution was possible, i.e. without diving into NodeRed etc.

PS2: Maybe via modbus?

Hi, have you found something useful?

I want to use it in the RV where also HASS is hosted. I want to show location in the HASS and maybe also forward it by Bluetooth to the iPad used as infotainment.

I can code something, but better if I can use some existing libraries for some parts.

H!

Sorry, I haven’t, since nobody has replied, and I’m lacking the knowledge to make progress about this topic. Maybe meanwhile some further information has become available in Teltonika Community’s forum (I have not checked). For guys with programming skills and a more profound knowlege this should not be too complicated, I guess. The router has all the geo position data available, and HAOS/HASS is surely able to deal with it. It remains unclear to me, though, via which way the data are fed, as there seem to be different ways (at least SNMP and MODBUS).

Sorry that I can’t be of any further help, but I would be delighted if you and/or others were able to share some further ideas how to do it. Good luck!
