I am new to HA, recently added my SimpliSafe to HA it work fine but I wanted to see if I can use my existing SimpliSafe control panel to run the service locally and stop subscription service.
I installed Alarmo and it works as alarm service no issues with it. My question here is how I can use the SimpliSafe “control panel/keypad” to work with Alarmo instead of using the digital keypad of Alarmo? So I can use the existing keypad which is available for me already.
All the sensors for doors and windows shows up in Alarmo setting, but I do not see the SimpliSafe control panel in Alarmo settings.
I doubt that’s possible. SimpliSafe uses proprietary equipment; I think that’s part of the business model. Their sensors, control panel, sirens, etc., all communicate with the hub which communicates with SimpliSafe’s servers. The HA add on logs into SimpliSafe as if you logged into the app or the website. In other words, any SimpliSafe data in HA goes from your sensors/control panel, through the hub, to their servers, and back to your HA in your home. I believe you can have a self-monitored SimpliSafe system where their monitoring center isn’t involved, but there still is a subscription for that as you’re using their cloud service to communicate. Check their website for those plans and availability.
If you want to set up an alarmo system, you’d have to get all of your own sensors and control panel. I don’t know what is available for a control panel but I would assume that you’d need to get a tablet or something and make your own control panel.
