I cannot get past the welcome to the HA command line

Hi all,

I’m a complete newbie to all of this. I recently purchased a Raspberry PI kit to install home bridge to get things working with apple home kit.
Then I was told about Home assistant. I spent days learning how to install a docker and managed to get home assistant working in a docker. Then found out I couldn’t access add Ons using a docker. I decided on a clean install of the HA OS. I used the raspberry PI Imager and fired up the PI. I seem to land on the home assistant welcome to the Home assistant command line. Which gives me the
Http address. And a flashing ha>
If I try and access the browser address on my PC it times out. I have gone through the forums and looked for anyone having the same. But a lot of this is all new to me and I am struggling to get it to work.
It worked in the Docker version but I would like to use a lot of the integrations so I’m keen to get this working.

Thanks

Have you made sure to include the port in the web address? eg: http:\192.168.0.10:8123

I dont know what the IP address is for the PI. When I type in ipconfig on the PI at the HA flashing cursor it says command not recognised

Sorry when i said http address. I meant the http://home-assistant.local:8123

What does that give ?

Or if you have a keyboard connected to your Pi, press ‘enter’ at the ha> prompt and try ipconfig again.

Yeah, tried that just now it still says unknown command

Shouldnt that be ifconfig?

try ip addr

Again not recognised
