IKEA TRÅDFRI 5-button Zigbee remotes missing event triggers (latest v24.4.5 firmware + Yellow SilLabs coordinator + ZHA)

Hi, I’ve been tracking a laundry list of issues operating IKEA TRÅDFRI 5-button remotes, however a firmware update seems to have resulted in some Zigbee devices working fine, but others missing all event triggers in ZHA except the remote Identify button which rather makes them rather useless as remotes! Any ideas / thoughts / experiences would be appreciated, however I suspect this is going to need a GitHub issue and lots of debug logging. UPDATE 1: Created Github issue 87495, non-working dev…

The Zigbee coordinator in a Yellow is the same SilLabs device that is in SkyConnect.

There’s a very long history of IKEA remotes having very poor battery life, particularly with ZHA (Z2MQTT is suggested to be better):

For several weeks I have had a problem with batteries that power IKEA Tradfri remote controls. New batteries discharge only after a few days and the remote controls stop working. All devices work in a small apartment, I did not change their position and previously I did not have such problems (I have been using this equipment for almost 2 years). Could this be caused by incorrect configuration in HA? I will be grateful for your help.
