IKEA Smart Lighting (Zigbee)

It looks as if IKEA has just released a bunch of lighting products that use Zigbee Light Link (ZLL).

Here are some links to press releases:

Here is a thread about the protocol used by the devices and links to videos of them working with Philips Hue:

I will be stopping by IKEA soon and testing some of these out.

Neat! I’m a big Ikea fan but I missed this announcement. Thanks.

Nice! Finally some smart (and cheap) E14 bulbs available! If anyone makes it work with Philips Hue/HASS let us know!

That’s awesome! Any idea how much these will cost?

Edit: just looked at the swedish ikea online store… They’re 299kr (about 30 euros) for the lightbulb + switch combo. 199kr for just the bulb, and 149kr for just the switch. Then they have a range of other types of bulbs with varying prices. You can take a look here (link in Swedish):

I was into buying bulbs from IKEA too, but after some googling it seems that it is not possible to pair the bulbs with the latest firmware on the Philips Hue Bridge 2.0

If you have an old firmware or an old bridge should be possible.

I hope that this means that ikea bulbs can be paired with Philips Hue bridge too

Could be a while before we see these in Australia :frowning2:

Any news on this?

I am more interested in HASS capability, even if is not working with Philips

According to this post they will work with Hue hubs but as they’re not official partners…
http://philipshue.com/thread/smart-bulbs-from-ikea-tradfri-work-with-the-hue-bridge/

…it only works with older versions of the firmware at the moment
https://developers.meethue.com/content/philips-hue-and-ikea-trĂĄdfri

the usual mess …

As I know it works with the Vera plus controller.

Do you know if there is any success to pair them with Osram ligthify hub?

I have tried the E14 and the G10 lights with Osram lightify hub. Was quite easy to pair them with the hub, didn’t even have to be that close when turning the lamps on to pair them. The only exception was the lamp that I had already paired with an Ikea controller, it wasn’t enough to unpair it first. It needs to be factory reset by turn off/on rapidly 6 times before it can be paired with the lightify hub. I have not been able to pair the Ikea controller with the hub so it is worthless if you going to use the lamps with lightify…

Osram lightify own app could not set color temp on any bulbs and only dim the G10 ones, not the E14. However, from hass I can change both color temp and dim the two types of devices so I am satisfied.

@malx122, thank you! great news!

With the Osram Lightify Hub, do you mean the Osram Lightify Gateway?

Sorry, quite new to this but would love to control my Ikea FLOALT somehow.

Yes, I mean the Lightify Gateway, some other manufacturers calls their similar products “hub”.

The “hass” question, I’m temped to not answer :). Clue: which forum are you visiting… (abbreviation)

Sorry about the hass question. Been browsing all evening and was so excited to read that someone has the Ikea bulbs paired with a hub

I was putting off getting a gateway as the only thing I have is a set of the Lightify Landscape lights but now there might be a reason…

Seeing the IKEA prices I don’t see, yet, the advantage:

Ikea E27 white at 25 Euro (Hue is 20).

Maybe for the GU10 Ikea 18, Hue 25

Yes but the Hue is fixed colour temperature, you can tune that on the Ikea. So different lights, Hue does have Whites now that you can do that as well, but they are more expensive.
