Ikea Styrbar not working after firmware upgrade

I was finally able to upgrade all of my devices and everything works again. No issues at all now!

So far so good, none of them seem to be becoming unresponsive now.
You were definitely correct to wait.

Im on 2.4.16 and i dont left or right buttons anymore. Only when i press them long i get al zha_listen response, which is similair to the up button(so useless). Only difference is a random string as ID.

I already deleted the device and restarted ZHA to clear any leftoversā€¦

Is there any other fix, I have tried anything mentioned here but still no clue why im only seeing the battery attribute.
Please help.

Not working since few days. I have the latest firmware and after last update of Z2M it stops working.

Same issue here, since last update (3 days ago) it stopped working.

Can you provide logs?

@heszar @nicolae.fratila Just hazarding a guess what your issue may be, did you recently update to Z2M v2? it is a major update see here for breaking changes. Zigbee2MQTT 2.0.0 breaking changes Ā· Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt Ā· Discussion #24198 Ā· GitHub. Worth reading.

If your styrbar relies on automations to perform actions, sensor.*_action will not work anymore as itā€™s now deprecated in favour of trigger events. The good news is (if this is indeed your issue) you can set an options in Z2M settings to get it to work (for how long I donā€™t know).

So basically very soon we will have useless devices.
In additon, I have noticed that also the automations with Xiaomi light sensors are not working anymore, even if the light sensors are working well

I did not install the latest updates of the Styrbar since everything worked and I have moved away from installing every update if there is nothing wrong (never change a running system). So I cannot comment on this.

But the update to Z2M v2.0.0.2 did not break it. I had to update the automation (based on a blueprint) but now everything works like before.

Same with Aqara buttons. Motion sensors and door sensors were not impacted.

Thanks!

I had followed the advice re the breaking changes in Z2M 2.0.0 but was still having no luck. The actions were showing up in Z2M but no actions appearing in the HA logs.

Checking the Home assistant legacy action sensor in Z2M as you suggested solved the issue.

Iā€™m not sure if this will be a long term fix or what exactly in meant by in favour of trigger events but thatā€™s a problem for another day.

Not 100% sure but I think if you would rebuild your automations using the GUI now, it would build them in the correct new way.
In my case I only had to do this for 2 Aqara buttons and 1 Ikea Styrbar so that was quickly done and I assume it is future proof now.

Amazing, Thank you so much for posting this!
