My ITC 306-A devices work with Tuya Local!

For anyone looking how to add IBS-TH3 WIFI:

  • Just add it to smart life Tuya app (mobile app)
  • Add tuya integration to HA and your device will be detected (you need your app first to have get a user code)

I’ve just added a couple of ITC 308 wifi devices to my HA setup. In common with others here, controlling a fermentation fridge. I’ve got it working the way I want it:

Thanks to the many contributors here who have helped. Here’s the summary:

  1. Add the Inkbird device in Tuya (I’m using Smart Life). I used "Other Wifi’. Can be fiddly. (Q&A: INKBIRD WIFI product connection troubleshooting - Questions & Answers - INKBIRD Community)
  2. That creates a climate device in the HA Tuya integration and you could just use that to control the target temp on the Inkbird but, as other posters have noted, there’s no on/off.
  3. I put an inexpensive (Althom ESPHome) wifi power switch on the Inkbird.
  4. Then use a a climate template to bring the switch and the temperature control under one climate card. This is my fav, there maybe others: GitHub - jcwillox/hass-template-climate: ā„ļøTemplatable Climate Device for Home Assistant, Supports Running Actions On Service Calls.. I’ll post the YAML if anybody needs it.

I’ve tried to get this working using Local Tuya but I can’t set the ā€œSetting Tempā€ on the Inkbird - it always goes to zero. Anybody got that to work?

Bluetooth may not reach your grill, but Inkbird works really welll ia the ESPHome Bluetooth Proxies as well. Not sure if i missed that being mentioned elsewhere.
You can plug a couple of proxies in temporarily while you grill, then take them off if you can’t get them in a weather proof area. It’s a good alternative to having to use the Inkbird app.
