Installation: Raspi appears to have booted correctly but refuses connection

Installation on new Raspberry Pi 5. Booted with ethernet cable connected and all firewalls and proxies of desktop turned off. Rpi refuses connection when addressed by homeassistant and by IP address. I have ha prompt on the raspberry pi and my router has recorded successful connection of it at the ip address.I get message stating site cant be reached, 192.168.1.64 refused to connect. Any ideas?

Are you using http://192.168.1.64:8123/

Yes. I am.

Can you connect to port 4357?

I tried but no luck there either.

At the prompt, you can try some of these commands: Common tasks - Operating System - Home Assistant.

ha core check
ha core logs
ha core rebuild

ha supervisor logs
ha supervisor repair

ha host reboot

Just confirming you followed these instructions: Raspberry Pi - Home Assistant.

yes just getting to it now. first one elicited an error:

Error: cant execute command: 500 Server Error etc. etc.

rebooting now

Yes I did, that’s how I knew what to do.

Might be worth doing a fresh install from scratch. I’m guessing it might be some sort of corruption.

ok I will re image the HA version of RP Os and re-install.

Here are some tips to bookmark for the future. But I’m interested if the reimage works.
