Have a look at post #109 in this thread, it says you can install it via HACS. I have not done it that way, mine was one of the early ones and I installed it manually from Github. There are instructions for that too higher up in this thread.
I have been using this intergartion for a long time and never had an issue but the last two weeks I contsaly get the error below.
a reboot will sometimes fix it but usually for a day or so.
I have tried using a backup of my HA configuration and still the same I have olso remove rebooted and reinstalled the add on and still the same ā¦its works for a day or lees and then error out on me.
I can still use the office APP to open the door so the contrller or hub is still connected to the internet correctly.
This error originated from a custom integration.

Just started setting up switches on a test bench before the sparky comes to install.
Iāve got the integration working fine, however on my 6 gang Senoa, the last two buttons (which I know arenāt actual relays) donāt get exposed to HA as they are for behaviour link, but I had planned to use them to control via HA a ZigBee LED strip and some other things down the track. Any ideas on how I can get them exposed?
A couple questions:
-
Does the integration require the hub to function or can the Senoa switch be directly connected to the Home Assistant hub(Bluetooth capable Raspberry PI)?
-
Does the Zimi integration expose more than simply the ON/OFF function of a switch? i.e. can you use Home Assistant to also view/change button RGBW colour, double press function, single press function, proximity sensor, power monitoring, etc?
This image is from the Zimi Integration Github page. Not sure if this is the full extant of the integrations functionality. Hoping there is more to itā¦
Pretty sure they wonāt do anything unless they are behaviour linked to another switch.
Hub is required for Zimi stuff to work.
The switches can only be used for what they are for and all that gets exposed to HA is what you would be getting now.
does anyone know if dimming works with this integration?
Unfortunately it only exposes the switch/dimmer/socket. Also chasing the power monitoring and the temp sensor in the fan controller if possible.
Is anyone else actively working on this? The Zimi sales guy has told me that they were actively working with whoever was working on the integration but it appears itās all gone a bit dry and nothing new has been added or changed to bring more into HA
I have been playing around with my HA and I came across this in my home-assistant.log. Is anyone else getting it?
2024-05-21 20:32:55.378 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.light] None (<class ācustom_components.zimi.light.ZimiLightā>) does not set supported color modes, this will stop working in Home Assistant Core 2025.3, please report it to the author of the āzimiā custom integration
I see it also
could you not connect a light circuit to a switch just neutral and active wires and then just use home assistant to program a switch like for example if switch on turn on ac or something? also is this integration still working well? seems like no one cares about this anymore?
My integration has been pretty rock solid for a long time now. There were a few niggles to start with but it seems to have settled since the update last year.
The basics are working fine but Iād love to see some more features like the ability to see the power monitoring in HA or the temps from fan controllers or the ability to reprogram the behaviour link only buttons on a 6 gang switch to something in HA without having to link it already to another Zimi switch. Even better if we could set some of the other settings via HA out of the Zimi app light button colours for Senoa range, turn on/off status LEDs etc etc. so many features that if much rather manage in HA instead of the clunky zimi back end. Wish the Zimi team were actively engaging in the HA community like the promised they would do
Please Please help needed: I am using HA Green.
I have only got Zimi Garage door set up. Installed this repo (not the pre-release version) via HACS and the door showed up along with a couple of other sensors (Humidity, battery etc). But, I cant control the door at all. I can see that its there as a cover and can see when was the last update but it doesnt work with HA.
I have the same setup here - garage door only.
What exactly isnāt working? What do you see when you click on the Garage Door device on that screen? For me the garage door device screen shows the controls for the cover entity. If you see the same, you can use the Add to Dashboard link to get direct access to the controls.
Here are my screenshots:
Thanks for your response @teleksterling. It doesnt show me controls like yours but yes it haa got cover entity. It does show the log when the door was opened / closed (manually) but any change I make through HA doesnt actually work on the door.
And when I click on the garage door, this is the control I see but as I mentioned previously, any change I make it here in HA doesnt move the door at all. So battery info is working, humidity, temp sensors, open/close logs are working but the actual control is not working.
Entity: cover.garage_door
Hmmm, it reminds me of issues i had much earlier on.
Iād written more about checking firmware versions, but then realised - you need to install the pre release version.
It exists to solve this issue - for me!
Iāll post an issue to promote it to a full release, given itās been running fine for 9 months.
