I’m experiencing the same issue @SmartHomeTech as yourself. Actually have been for months and was following this thread but gave up since everyone seems to be operational except for me
So I only have the Steeline Garage door with the sensor to allow to open the door at 50% etc with Zimi Cloud hub. Works perfect via the Zimi app but can’t seem to control it via HA. Battery levels coming through fine and so are logs ( when it’s open, closed, etc). I’m able to slide a bar on the garage door but does not activate anything.
I have blown away the configuration and the install in HA and followed the last post of @teleksterling version but still same issue. Also listed the screenshot in HA along with the firmware versions of the devices.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you tried updating zimi firmware? Power Cycle the module connected to the garage controller post the update. Integration works with 0.63.0.50 fw version.
I’ve got the same issue, I opened the doors once on adoption into HA but it hasn’t worked since the first test
Also has anyone’s cloud connect just sh!t the bed in the last week? Devices dropping out and going offline, several minutes delay in response from devices state changes from HA or the Zimi app?
Apparently there is an updated version of the app coming out soon??? according to their support but no ETA. I’m thinking we need to flood their support with requests to get them onto some firmware and app updates asap because it’s really gone to cr@p lately
HI All, I am new to HA.
I have a question.
I had no issue with intergrating Zimi into HA.
All of my attached devices intergrated with the exception of my blind controllers.
Has anyone had an issue with these? Is there something I need to do to give assess to HA?
I am also think of aquiring the Zimi smoke alarms when they release, I assume there will need to be some code changes for HA to see these?
Another question: Is it possible to show linking switches in HA? ie the spare onse you can use to control other zimi switches?
Hello All,
I’m about to get rid of all of my powermesh light, fan and power switches.
I’m not happy with the requirement that cloud-integration is needed for integration into HA.
Most people are not that concerned about security but I’m not overly comfortable with a 3rd party company (google or zimi) knowing when I switch lights off and on or open and close my garage door.
I mean, if their MQTT infra were ever to be exploited, it would be trivial for someone to determine your ‘home’ and ‘not-home’ probability based on past usage patterns.
Obviously, the chances of this are quite low, but the point is that there’s no hard need for the Zimi mesh to announce to the cloud whats going on inside my home. Zimi have zero plans to allow this in the future and they do not publish any information (so far as I can see) about what data is collected, how long it’s stored for and what they do to protect such data.
If Zimi was an EU company this would not be allowed but sadly, in Australia we don’t have much in data protection laws.
I wanted to support an Australian company and I’ve had Zimi installed for about 3 years now. For the most part it works great. But privacy and data protection is becoming more and more important so I’m off to look for some Au certified replacement for Zimi.
I was wondering how strongly others felt about this? I’m probably a bit of an outlier but more and more I find myself being more protective of my PII.
