After going down a T6E rabbit hole I stumbled upon an interesting set of Tuya devices: 6–10" LCD panels with built-in rotary controls (which themselves have an LCD display), like this one branded Anjielo F7:
It has a 7" 1024x600 IPS touchscreen, has ZigBee, Bluetooth, Ethernet port, TF card slot, external Micro USB port, and runs Android 8.1.
Like I said, this is one of a range of such devices sold (of course) under different brands (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
I don’t have any reason for posting this other than that I found it interesting, and I wonder how hard it would be to get Fully Kiosk running on it and whether the rotary control and its little LCD screen could be utilized.
Something like this would be absolutely great. Being able to easily dim a group of lights in the room or turn volume up/down etc.
Unfortunately these Chinese random-products often have a quirky OS/application bundle, usually proprietary which cannot be upgraded, or starts breaking in a few months, where apps won’t work etc.
I would like something like this with the possibility of running either a simple Linux install, or a rooted Android version.
