I recently invested in a set of 3 Inventor airconditions - it’s the Pro series, models named Supreme.
From I have been told Inventor is a brand tag for products in the Midea group.
The mobile app that managed them is called Inventor Control, probably uses Tuya cloud, but I have not been able to to integrate them into Home Assistant.
I have also tried to connect the (mobile) app into the Tuya Cloud, where I have connected my SmartLife devices, but without success.
So question is, has anyone out there had actually got appliances such as mine?
Any ideas at to how and with what if any integration this series of devices by be integratable into Home Assistant?
Has anyone heard of any such integration being worked on?
Hi,
Actually I do have the same appliances from Inventor, also the pro series.
I did issue a feature request only today to ask for a module integrated in ha to operate them in the future.
Or did you make already any progress in regards to this topic?
I’m going to follow this topic with interest. I have 4 Inventor airconditioners and would very much like to be able to automate climate control with HA
I’ll be getting solar panels soon, would be awesome if there’s PV production to use the Inventor airconditioners to heat (or cool) the house
Hello everyone,
I am facing exactly the same issue. I have 3 Inventor A/Cs at home, the 2 small ones in the bedrooms are working fine in HA using Midea AC LAN (mobile app: INVmate II), the big one in the leaving room is using the “Inventror Control” app and up to now I wasn’t able to integrate it to HA, neither in Tuya.
Although I had an epiphany today. I checked my box with the manuals and found the wifi module boxes.
The A/Cs that working are using the module EU-OSK105. The one that cannot be integrated is using the EU-ODZ104.
I will try to put the working one to the non working and come back with results.
If it is compatible with A/C, all we need is to purchase one.
I hope the results will be good.
Update:
I swapped the wifi modules and the A/C is working as it should.
So if you can find the EU-OSK105 wifi module and put it in your A/C, problem solved.
I hope there will be a solution to integrate “Inventor Control” into HA.
Another workaround is to put the device into google home, there is an integration into google home for inventor control. Via google SDK into HA you can control the device but only for switching on and off.
I have used this workaround for my Woox smart switch that controlling my boiler.
I haven’t tested it for the A/C. It is a little bit more complicated this way.
It would be nice to keep this thread alive so if anyone has something helpful to share.
2nd Update:
Continuing like above. There isn’t any solution still out there that can integrate “Inventor Control” in HA.
But the support of Inventor is amazing.
As I told above I tried to swap the wifi modules to verify that their compatible and they were.
After I called the support of inventor to tell them that I want to replace my wifi module with the specific one (EU-OSK105) that is working with INVmate II.
The girl that answered told me that this module is not compatible with the A/C that I want to put it in. I told her I tried and is working, she said OK the technician for the wifi will call you later.
The technician called couple of hours later and he told more me or less the same, that the manufactures says that it’s not compatible and for me worked because the module was already configured and paired with the INVmate II app. I couldn’t believe it and said to the technician that I will unpair it, swap it to other A/C and try to pair it again, and there we hanged up.
Next morning I am receiving a call from the technician, he told me that he tested it and it’s working fine. The only reason that he can find regarding why the manufacturer say’s the module isn’t compatible with the A/C is because it is a kind of a downgrade… AND !!! He told me that he is shipping to me the specific module for free!!! I received it before 10 minutes !!! 1 day after our call !!!
Good job INVENTOR. After this experience you will be my priority when I want to buy an appliance.
thank you for all this info. I have 3 of the Pro units at home, I just ordered one of these modules - the EU-OSK105 - and will be testing it with HASS as soon as I receive and install it and let you know. Costs 35€ here in Greece.
The same thing just happened to me, I got a new air conditioner and it has USB (ΕΤ-ODZ04) and I ordered the older one.
I have another air conditioner that is with USB ( OSK102 ) and it works perfectly
Hi, new to HA, old to tinkering… Just chiming in because I also have a couple of Inventor Comfort A/Cs that will be integrating into HA -if and when I setup a VM for it- so I would like to follow the conversation on “downgrading” the WiFi module. May I ask for some more information, as to how is this done? Is this some easily accessible port on the indoor unit that allows for the module to be swapped, or will I have to take the units apart?
Also, while we’re at this, anyone has access to Comfort’s service manual? I am noticing strange behavior of the “chassis heating belt”, and would like to do some reading…
I also have an Inventor AC and I can’t connect it to Home Assistant.
It’s a PFUVI-09WFI, but the wifi stick doesn’t seem to be either of those mentioned here.
The Wifi Usb stick is a RTL8710BN-USB.
The app to connect is Inventor Control.
I tried to connect it with the Midea app, I had read that Midea produces Inventor units, but I guess not this one, or at least it didn’t work.
Does anyone have any idea if using the OSK105 could work?
Hi everyone,
The access to the wifi module is pretty easy. Just unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom where the air comes out, the vent needs to be rotated a little bit manually to get access and then lift the lid. The module is on the lid.
Regarding the compatibility with app, everything has to do with the module model.
If all the modules are compatible with the your device I am not aware. This is a trial and error procedure. Try to borrow one from someone (a store that installs A/Cs maybe) and give it a try.
I haven’t tried any other module than the ones I mention to my previous comments.
But bare in mind that if you are able to pair your module either with the midea app (now I think is called “smart home”) or tuya, you will be able to integrate with HA.
I had the same issue, had my 2 ACs registered to Inventor cloud, but after some research, I found that the cloud is a stripped down version of Tuya cloud. I registered my ACs to Tuya cloud and the integration works like a charm! No need to replace the wifi dongles
Hi there. So I got 4 new ACs, 2 of them (Corona model) apparently have the ODZ04 module, 2 smaller ones must have the older one. I’m trying to connect them to a Homey I have, similar process to what you guys were doing.
The smaller ones, no problem, got them in smart life app, did the whole tuya iot cloud process and got them working.
But as you guys said, the ones with ODZ04 won’t register with either tuya or smart life apps. Inventor app can register them somehow but can’t connect that app to tuya cloud, although it has option to scan the qr code it gives an error.
Any other solutions to consider or should I start looking around for the older modules ?
