Does anyone had sucess with this hardware on home assistant without issues?
Im builiding a new home and intend to add this device.Ip Router Gira 216700
I have checked this router ‘secure’ feature, is it like Ip Secure?
Will i have trouble adding this to my setup?
Hi !
This device will work fine, however KNX secure is not supported by HA so you will probably have to turn it off (not sure if it is able / makes sense to run both secure and non-secure connections concurrently).
If you don’t need the routing capabilities a tunneling interface will also do fine for ~150€ less. Or something like a Gira X1 with built-in tunneling interface - if you plan to get this for different reasons anyway.
I am in the middle of deplyoing HA in our office for different tasks. Two of our rooms run a KNX setup around the Gira KNX IP router which was installed by our electrician.
However I found that I can ping and connect to the Gira KNX IP router on my network, and I would love to integrate it into Home Assistant. When I enter the IP in my browser I have to enter username and password, but I dont have any. I already tried device/device and I looked at the device itself for any stickers or hints for credentials on it, all without luck.
Anyone can lead me in a direction I can start integrating this into my HA?
You don’t need access to the routers web interface to use its Knx functions. Unless it’s a Knx Secure Installation there are no Security measures in the Knx Protocol. But you will need to know the group address assignments to control something then.
However, if you are interested, the default username and password used to be “device” - don’t know if this is still true for newer models.
I will not take any risk on this since im building a new home, probably will go with the IP interface 216800 from Gira. Thanks for your help, you have great value in this comunity.
