iRobot Roomba i7+ Configuration using Rest980

@standby82
Unfortunately not. The Roomba 100 series (105, 110 and their Combo versions) uses iRobot’s newer Prime protocol. These robots are controlled only through iRobot’s cloud and offer no local connection at all. That’s why it fails even with the correct BLID and password; it isn’t anything in your setup.

  • rest980 controls a robot over the older local protocol (MQTT on port 8883), which the 100 series doesn’t have.
  • roomba_rest980 uses iRobot’s cloud only for maps, room names and favourites, and still sends every command through the local rest980 container. It doesn’t support Prime robots yet, as of its current version (v1.20.0-beta4).
  • The built-in Roomba integration of Home Assistant doesn’t support Prime robots either. It only talks to robots locally.

Disclosure: I maintain Roomba+, a HACS integration that supports Prime robots through iRobot’s cloud, the same way the iRobot app does. You sign in with your iRobot account, and the robot appears with start, stop and docking, room and zone cleaning by name, the map, and mission history. Since it goes through the cloud, it needs internet, unlike the local integrations.

@stiney31, it might be helpful to have a look at Roomba+ for your three i7+ as well. It connects to each robot directly, so you don’t need a rest980 container and port per robot.

If you try it and get stuck, the Roomba+ thread is the right place to ask, so this one stays on rest980.
