Is Daikin AC integration local-control possible with FTXC71D? (2024 and onward)

I’m looking to buy some AC for home: TXC71D pack, that comes with the indoor unit FTXC71D.
I want to control them with IR and HA via wifi-only (no internet access). As I understand from the disclamers on the daikin integration: that is possible with a BRP069B45 (or BRP069B41) wifi modules.
Does anyone has tried old BRP072A42 wifi module in that indoor unit?

As far as I understand even the new models with new firm in Europe can use the local API if used with the supported Wifi modules right?
(btw Daikin Online Controller is to be deprecated in a few months)

I would love to have my AC controlled by HA but I don’t want them cloud connected at all. IR control is my B-plan… but its not the same.

If any user can give me some info on how they are running their Daikin AC would be much appreciated.

Daikin has removed their local API in newer products. They offer a Onecta cloud API for controlling Daikin devices through the cloud, see the Daikin Europe Developer Portal for more details. This affects units fitted with the BRP069C4x wifi adapter. Units listed under Supported Hardware below continue to have access to local control. Additionally the older but commonly available BRP072A42 adapter can be fitted to most if not all newer units for access to local control.

Supported hardware

  • The European versions of the Wifi Controller Unit (BRP069A41, 42, 43, 45), which is powered by the Daikin Online Controller application. The new version of WiFi Controller Unit BRP069Bxx is also confirmed to work, tested and working devices are the BRP069B41 and BRP069B45.
  • The Australian version of the Daikin Wifi Controller Unit BRP072A42, which is operated by the Daikin Mobile Controller (iOS) (Android) application. Confirmed working on a Daikin Cora Series Reverse Cycle Split System Air Conditioner 2.5kW Cooling FTXM25QVMA with operation mode, temp, fan swing (3d, horizontal, vertical).
    • BRP072Cxx based units (including Zena devices)*.
  • The United States version of the Wifi Controller Unit (BRP072A43), which is powered by the Daikin Comfort Control application. Confirmed working on a Daikin Wall Units FTXS09LVJU, FTXS15LVJU, FTXS18LVJU and a Floor Unit FVXS15NVJU with operation mode, temp, fan swing (3d, horizontal, vertical).
  • The Australian version of the Daikin Wifi Controller for AirBase units (BRP15B61), which is operated by the Daikin Airbase application.
  • SKYFi based units, which is operated by the SKYFi application*.

Presume that everything sold by Daikin is now cloud only, particularly new models.

There is an esp module someone has created which can be plugged in to the units. Search this forum for it.

I checked that topic and the GitHub repository last night.
I’ll use this thread to reply about the possibility about the official integration and the other thread for the faikin + new model not listed.
My plan is, if it has the proper S21 connector, to buy one official and one faiking device and test both.

Thank you very much for the fast replies on both topics!

I have a Daikin FTX12AXVJU with a Daikin remote that is 3P605270-1.

I’m trying to get setup using Broadlink RM Mini or literally anything else, but not having any luck.

It seems like it should be suported by Broadlink, but I haven’t had success yet.
