Kincony: an other bad quality ESP devices manufacturer?

Hi

I’m looking for some other users of Kincony products to get their experiences with it ? Mine is not so great so far with the few products I bought from them:

→ K868-AG: this one is the less bad of all, have succeeded to flash it easily and get it working so far !
→ K868-Uair: the device has a bad printed board design as one of the ring LEDs is linked with bar… Trying to get that to understand by Kincony but their support is just sorry to say dumb or understand nothing at all at english ! I suspect also the Dallas sensor on board to be a fake Chinese one and not Dallas original one (4° offset with some other temperature sensors around).
→ K868-A8: unable to flash the board and support unable to help (sends me esphome code sketch when I ask exact procedure to flash device…

Thanks for your feedbacks

Vincèn

Hello

I had some initial issues configuring the K868-A16 however its now working perfectly. I’m now using 5 of these boards across two HA installations and they are rock solid. I’d have no issue in recommending them.

I have a K868-A4 i am using for a gate controller have had no issues yet.
I first flashed it with Tasmota’s online tool but want to change to esphome (or preferably HAA if they get the esp32 port done)

I contacted them but their support and communication does not seem promising.

I don’t think that they are trustworthy.

yes their support is quite terrible as they barely speak english and understand it :frowning: Did you try their forum ?

Well products themselves are reliable, I have some at home and also installed at some customers since 3 years and so far no failure or issues with them (all Flashed with ESPHome).

I don’t know what other companies make pcb’s like theirs but I think I would go with another manufacturer, not them.

Any suggestions for alternatives?

I don’t know if what I want to do is considered a “smart home”:

May you please be more specific about your “issue” with Kincony PCB boards ? They are clean and well done, never got any issues with them !

Whenever I asked them about information on their products, their replies were very vague. This might be due to poor communication skills or could be ither things as well.

Also the feeling I got from them is that “we are the easy d cheap sollution, take it as it is or leave it”.

So nope, I do not trust them.

Well it’s just the regular thing with Chinese products where you can’t count on support but it doesn’t imply automatically product is bad ! That’s quite a shortcut

My watch, laptop, tablet, excavator, motorbike and many more things I own are Chinese made… I am not preoccupied by any means but KinCony specifically made me feel this way…

So I tried a product of theirs and I can now assure you that their aftersales “service” is just not even in place…

Terrible communication and no interest to REALLY help customers at all.

I hope the product lasts.

Not recommended by me.

Yeah it’s really a shame to have so bad support as products are quite good quality ! I have some running since more than 3 years now without any issues and the hardware itsefl is well designed !
I have taken the habit with them if you need support is to check their forum. If I can find the info there it’s all good. If it’s not I know I’ll have to find out by myself

Yeap, no support at all. Even when they reply the reply is even silly or “check the forum” etc. Would not recommend at all…

That’s funny, their products have quite a good reputation around here.

Well quality of their products is not really the problem, it’s mainly the tech support and contact with them that is terrible

Just ordered my second Kincony board. First one had a defect caused by transport, got a replacement straight away with no discussion. Yes the communication could be better, but I think they are great!
