Kodi support for media metadata like TV show name, season, chapter, etc

Hello,

do you think the data coming from kodi can be extended to also collect tv show, season, chapter, etc. so far it seems only to contains this:
{'volume_level': 1.0, 'media_title': 'Wrath of the Villains: Pinewood', 'media_content_type': 'video', 'icon': 'mdi:kodi', 'media_content_id': {'unknown': '5577089'}, 'entity_picture': 'http://1.1.1.1/image/image%3A%2F%2Fhttp%253a%252f%252fthetvdb.com%252fbanners%252fepisodes%252f274431%252f5577089.jpg%2F', 'media_duration': 2413, 'is_volume_muted': False, 'friendly_name': 'Salon - OSMC', 'supported_media_commands': 4671}
it’ll be brilliant to use that data in conditions or notifications, things like: “If I’m playing Game of Thrones, turns the lights off, etc. etc.”

cheers.

The example you give is already possible.

I’m afraid not, as you can see in the json I attached, the ‘media_title’ does not contain details about the TV show (Gotham in this case), for movies it’s ok but for TV shows it’s not available.

Ah I see what you mean. Me personally asked for the same but only for movie information and played time position

right, let’s see then if we have some support! :smiley:

Do you remember when you were watching a movie at the theater and the lights turn on during the credits?

That would be an awesome cinematic experience at home. :slight_smile:

That is, if you tell Home Assistant what time the credit begins for every movie that you stored in your server.

That is exactly my intention. Lights already dim when movie starts and come back on when movie pauses or stops playing.

But need to be able to have come lights on when credits roll. Hence the RFC. :grin:

I started to work with this DB www.mediastinger.com but manually making a rule for every movie is counterproductive. Plus it’s in minutes so not accurate enough.

I found this for end credits http://chapterdb.org/browse
