Relative n00b here. I am in the process of transitioning from SmartThings to HA. I am running Home Assistant OS on a RPi. I have added a Aeotec Gen5 Z-Wave USB stick to me RPi. I added the Z-Wave JS integration (which prompted me to install the Z-Wave JS add on). I was able to pair a Z-Wave light switch, and Z-Wave Temp/Motion sensor without issue. I did the exclusion process on SmartThings, and the inclusion via the HA app on my Android phone, and success.
However, while I was able to successfully exclude my Kwikset 910 lock in SmartThings, and get it securely include and pair in HA, I am not getting the lock to actually work. HA “sees” my lock, the Z-Wave integration shows it as a node, however, when I attempt to lock or unlock through HA, nothing happens. I can see the LED on my lock light up (which is what I’m used to when its talking to the controller), but the lock does not engage. I did ensure it has fresh batteries. I also tested with a code programmed through the lock (to make sure it wasn’t a mechanical/electrical issue).
I followed (the best I could) the threads here and here. When added the Z-Wave integration, and add-on, I “clicked though” these steps (leaving stuff on default), so not sure if the important “network key” step is getting glossed over by me. I’ve tried (twice) removing the Z-wave integration and re-adding it, without success. I feel there is a manual step I am missing.
I’ve tried: excluding and re-including (secure); excluding, then factory reset on lock, then re-including (Secure), excluding, restart HA, re-including (secure). Need some guidance, and I’ll provide logs/configs/etc, if you tell me where to get them from.
