Local Calendars - Request the ability to change the colors

not sure if this is the same ask, so let me add this:
colors would be perfect for recognizing events in a single calendar (usecase here: waste collection)

these are all showing identically, and hence require a click to identify the waste type

they’re created automatically, so would be a huge improvement if we could set a color in those automations

This is exactly why I would like this too!

I’d rather like my blue bin/bag calendar to be blue, my brown bin calendar to be brown, and my grey bin calendar to be grey.

Create a separate calendar for each event type. Not one calendar with multiple events.

However, I dont think we can set the colors even in that scenario? Which would make the effort kind of moot, as my hope is to have the color glimpse and be aware what type is due…

Nope. You can’t set them (there’s no theme variable) but they are different.

I’ve just realised that they are the same as the new graph line colours, but we can’t set them either. Not that I mind there, they are a good set of colours.

WTH why can't i change the colors in the local calendar?

When you create a local calendar it assigned a color and if you create more they are all assigned different colors. i would like the ability to be able to change the colors of existing local calendars and the ability to choose a color when creating a new one Local Calendars - Request the ability to change the colors - Feature Requests - Home Assistant Community

Another +1 for being able to change colours so waste collection entries actually reflect the bin colour for waste collection! Seems like quite a simple thing, but can make a big difference to user experience I think.

I’m running about 8 and they tend to be very similar colours making the feature irrelevant.
