Currently I am looking for reliable (and reasonably priced) Zigbee sensor that “just” sens me a closed contact. For example in this project

There is the rather expensive Aqara door sensor used and the actual sensing unit is thrown away, just the contact part is used.
Also I have some simple push-buttons in use that mainly do the desired thing: Send a signal if the contact is closed. Right now I am a bit afraid that e.g. when used inside a rain gauge, a simple button like this https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005005941325665.html
could send “double” in case of heavy rain.
This would be used for a variety of “contact closed” actions, not just the rain gauge but also doorbell monitoring etc.
Are there experiences which sensor is good to use as a basis? Mechanically easy to disassemble, reliable in use?
Many thanks for the update! Directly from your project page I have ordered it already from Aliexpress, right now it is/was something like 10€ and it already is on the way.
My only, hmmm, concern, was: Why throw away the good parts, you could also use a cheapo contact button for it or anything else that just contains the “send a signal when a contact is closed” functionality.
Again, very good to know that it still works, as soon as the parts have arrived, I will build mine.
