Looking for a Video Doorbell Alternative to EZVIZ HP7 with Indoor Station and Home Assistant Integration (~300€)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a video doorbell system that fits within a budget of around 300€, ideally with an indoor station and Home Assistant integration. The EZVIZ HP7 would be perfect for my needs, but unfortunately, it lacks Home Assistant support, which is a dealbreaker for me.

My requirements:

  • Indoor Station: A dedicated indoor display is a must-have.
  • Home Assistant Integration: Full integration with Home Assistant for automations and notifications.
  • Budget: The total cost (doorbell + indoor station) should be around 300€.
  • Video Quality: Good video quality for clear images.
  • Two-Way Communication: Built-in microphone and speaker for intercom functionality.
  • Shape: The doorbell should be rectangular (no round designs like the Google Nest Doorbell, as it doesn’t fit the location).
  • Wired or Wireless Options: I’m open to both wired and wireless solutions.

What I’ve considered so far:

  • The EZVIZ HP7 is almost perfect, especially price-wise, but lacks Home Assistant support, so I need to find an alternative.

If anyone knows of any systems that meet these requirements or has suggestions based on their experience, I’d really appreciate your input!

Additional Info:

  • I’m using Home Assistant 2024.11.2 with a HassOS-based setup.
  • I’m located in Germany, so EU availability is a plus.
  • Any insights on integrations, automations, or your personal setup would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the exact same question. Now, there is an integration for the hp5. I imagine this could work for the hp7 as well but I don’t believe features like being able to perform an action when someone rings the doorbell have been integrated.

There is an integration for Hikvision (topic here) which seems to be more developed. Sadly, the Hikvision doorbel/indoor station solutions are more expensive and the problem remains, both rely on a cloud-service. Basically, these devices loose the app-related functionalities (and therefore the API that is called from within the integrations, once the service is stopped. (1-day-later-edit: it seems the Hikvision API is local, so this may be a viable option afterall)

I just want to be able to do stuff myself without relying on a cloud-service, especially for a device that you buy for the long run.
