I’m about to receive my new Luba AWD5000 automower. It would be neat to get it started through voice (Alexa or Assist) and Home Assistant.

For this moment there no API on which an integration can be made as far as I know. Maybe a custom integration can be made by reversed engineering on the bluetooth.

is there any hope that something will happen here or will we have to make friends with our luba and not be able to integrate him into HA?

Another Luba 2 owner here hoping for HA integration. For now, I am using app notifications (Android/Tasker/Notification Listener) to automate a couple things, but it’s not reliable in the slightest.

I haven’t used it, but it looks like the developer behind pyluba has a HACS custom component to add a Luba Home Assistant integration.

It seems to be under active development, but the dev seems to appreciate help based on the details in the related repo: Issues · mikey0000/pyluba · GitHub

If any of you try it out, please report back. I’ve been considering buying a Luba this year and a good Home Assistant integration would help motivate me.

exciting to see there has been a integration build already. unfortunately dont have bluetooth range to the yuka that i own, so hopefully wifi will be supported soon.

For people interested, i made a guide how to make yuka and luba smarter using a contact/door sensor and a smart plug. The door sensor will no longer be needed if this luba integration will work reliably to get offline(?) status of the device. But until it does not, this guide above will improve your mammotion product by a ton.

I also have an approach to making the Luba 2 or Yuka a little smarter. Simply connect the Alexa skill (assuming you are using it) and use the custom integration “Alexa Media Player” in Home Assistant to start a routine in Alexa via automation. The routine in Alexa then starts a specific task for the Mammotion robot. In the Home Assistant automation, for example, a condition can be inserted to only mow when it is not raining. This means, for example, that he doesn’t even go out in the rain. Works simple and great.
