Hello. I’m trying to get to the root of my Nanoleaf problem. It’s a matter over thread bulb, but it keeps going unavailable. Thread border routers are Apple HomePods and Apple TV. I assume it’s connected to a HomePod since that’s what it’s closest too but have no way to know for sure. Any help would be appreciated.
+1 . I have the bulb connected to matter using google home and then to home assistant using the matter server. I believe it is a matter server problem because I can control the bulb with google home, and the nanoleaf app even when I cannot control it with home assistant.
Seeing the same on my setup, with a SkyConnect and Nanoleaf Essential Matter with Thread Bulbs.
I just installed my SkyConnect, re-configured my network firewall so that it can actually communicate with Home Assistant, and then when I started adding devices the bulbs they connect for a few minutes then enter the same loop of becoming unresponsive then reconnecting every few seconds. The bulbs have had their firmware updated, been removed from all previous services, and still continue having the same issue. When I do a power cycle on the bulb it connects for a few minutes, but then shortly goes back to looping every few seconds.
I was seeing similar behavior before with these bulbs when they were connected to an apple home setup that used an Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen.) as the Thread Boarder Router. Even in Apple home I was seeing the drop offs in the network, and continued seeing that from home assistant when I linked the lights from Apple Home to Home Assistant over Matter.
Has anyone found if this is an issue with the bulbs, or with HA / SkyConnect / Thread integrations?
I had some issues with connecting any matter device to HA, which where resolved when I connected my HA yellow directly to the router, before that I was using a power line.
Only a thought
Having similar issues with my nanoleaf matter bulbs.
It seems going into HA and restarting the matter server addon fixes it.
Considering setting up a nightly restart of the service or something like that
Same issue with my matter test bulbs as well, will drop off a few hours in and a recycle of the bulb doesn’t work, HA recycle doesn’t work, bulb IS connected to the wireless network though, I see traffic, Matter controller loses it though.
FYI the latest beta firmware .136 is way more stable. Have pretty consistent connection with my 24 nanoleaf GU10’s. With 2-3 randomly disconnecting every so often, but largely working
We are waiting for the next big beta firmware which will move the bulbs up to matter 1.2 (currently 1.1) and hopefully for that, however the current beta is the most stable one I have had so far.
