Media_Player entities all of sudden missing

I have several Media_Player entities in HA, mostly Google Home Minis and Chromecasts. All of a sudden they are gone. I can’t even see them in my states menu. I’ve tried rebooting HA and disconnecting/reconnecting my Nabu Casa account but none of that worked. Any idea what to check?

If they’re all part of the cast integration, check the logs for any errors or warnings.

I don’t have the cast integration. I have always used Nabu Casa to integrate them. Was this moved to the cast integration?

As media players they have always been part of cast

I guess I was confused on how I had these implemented. At one point I feel like it was implemented through Nuba Casa, but I could be wrong.

I see each of my Google Home Minis and Chromecasts in Integrations>Google Cast but they all show “Entity Unavailable”

Are they in States?

Nope, they are not listed in states.

Well thats why they don’t appear in lovelace, not that this observation is necessarily helpful.

Chromecasts should be auto detected if they are on your lan during HA startup? Were they all plugged in and on when you started HA?

Yep, they are all on the LAN and operating normally. I’ve done several HA restarts, google home mini restarts and network restarts.

I am on ha 0.101.2 and mine still appears in ha. Weird. What does your log tell you?

Here is my log. I don’t see anything related to this issue.

This is in my home-assistant.log file. Does this have to do with it?

I really can’t say. Let’s hope someone else comes along. Do you have Discovery turned on.

As long as you have one of discovery: or cast: in configuration.yaml - or you set up Cast as an integration in the UI - they should show up. Can you check to see if you have either of those?

I have discovery: in my configuration.yaml

I also have Google Cast integration in the UI and I have “enable newly added entities” enabled.

I tried deleting my Google Cast integration and re-installing it. I got this message.

Untitled

My cast devices are on the same LAN and subnet as my HASSIO so I’m not sure why it’s not finding them.

Any update here? I just realized I have the same issue. All but one of my 8 cast devices is no longer showing up.

I’m still unable to find the cast devices using the Google Cast integration. But if I manual add each one by IP address of the cast device I can see them. I’ve entered this in my configuration.yaml to add two of them. Still working on the others. I would REALLY prefer the auto-discovery method if anyone can chime in with a fix.

cast:
  media_player:
    - host: 192.168.1.25
    - host: 192.168.1.137

Appreciate the quick reply. Thanks for the workaround.

Bit the bullet and removed the cast component and readded it. My (one) chromecast was found immediately.

None of you have said what version of HA you are on.
