That must be new behaviour in 2021.10 related to the selects. I would recommend that you look filtering out the selects from being exposed to Homekit, or alternatively fine tune your selects under the echonetlite integration options to remove select options you don’t require.
Looks good to me… if anyone sees anything wrong let me know but It was affecting me only for echonetlite and harmony hub so filtered all. Haven’t tested fully but tiles from homekit have gone
I couldn’t find a option in UI to do anything in echonetlite integration but that could have been simpler as well @scotty … if you could show that, would be great.
Thanks for your work @scotty ! Just got it set up with 8 of my LN series Mitsubishi splits (MSZ-LN Series - 2.5 kW 6.0 kW - Mitsubishi Electric Australia). Any idea if dual vane control is available via the Echonet protocol? Melview doesn’t support it nor does it support the plasma filter. More of a nice to have feature.
The echonet protocol for the home air conditioning class will allow configuration of airflow settings including horizontal and vertical airflow in split systems as well as swing modes but the system needs to support it. If you system supports the modes then it should be exposed as select entities. Not sure about dual vane operation however.
Hi @Hufflepuff-source - Yes, once it is integrated into Home Assistant using the custom component, you can then expose it to Homekit using the bridge integration.
The only downside to echonetlite is that you lose fidelity and can only set the temperature in whole degree increments; this is a limitation of the standard.
Thank you so much. Would you be able to share a screenshot of the controls as well within HomeKit?
The reason why I’m asking is that we also recently got a Samsung ax90 air purifier and works with home assistant and HomeKit through SmartThings integration; however, I can only turn it on and off and need to use the SmartThings app on my phone to change the mode and check the air quality.
Hi @Hufflepuff-source
We are looking to get exact same setup (MSZ-AP71VGD with the MAC-568IF-E) since the Daikins for this size are no longer doing local integrations (just cloud). So just wondering if you went ahead with this and any issues - and also if you can let us know which country you are in that would help too.
I’ve been trying to confirm with Mitsubishi AU Support that EchoNetLite is definitely available for these models in AU market (and not disabled/restricted) - but not having a whole lot of luck so far. Their tech support staff are barely knowledgeable about this, so far their expert only seems to be able to provide basic information on how to connect the Wifi module to the network & didn’t actually know/understand what EchoNetLite even was. sigh…
thanks
Niall
I’m based in Victoria, Australia. We installed the Mitsubishi aircon few days after this post. We installed the aircon and set it up with Mitsubishi Wi Fi control iOS app. Through hacs, I was able to integrate it with Home Assistant and to Apple HomeKit through the controller.
HA exposed almost all the controls and HomeKit is able to detect it as a climate control.
HA also has direction and swing but it shows up as switches in HomeKit that you turn on each time mimicking pressing the button each time in the remote. We don’t include it and just use the fan speed, temp and climate control as it defaults to swing and all direction as the aircon is in a large open space area. We use the aircon every day in this cold weather and haven’t touched the remote it came with since day 1.
Awesome thanks! I think this is the information I need to go ahead with purchase. Mitsubishi AU still haven’t got back to me with above info you just provided - promised it to me yesterday.!
I think pretty much anyone would be more knowledgeable vs them lol… They still didn’t reply either.
I’m also in Vic (Melbourne) will have to hit you up for a contact name next time I need a sparky with some IoT/HA clues, but hopefully am over the line for this one now. It’s hard to find these guys, I did have a sparky a while back who did my Fibaro modules for me (well to point of me then doing final Z-Wave config after it was wired up etc) but they’ve not been too busy lately.
ps - hopefully getting this installed on Monday next week - awaiting advice from installer who is ordering it today.
Just reporting back that MSZ-AP71VGD & MAC-568IF-E was installed yesterday & all up and running successfully using the HACS addin via EchoNet Lite. Thanks for the help & Scott Philips for the awesome addin!
When I have some time I will have a look at trying to add some firewall walls for the unit (from the internet) to stop any unwanted firmware updates being pushed out from Mitsubishi that could break the integration (as I’ve had issues with other manufacturers doing this before post install).
