I have multiple energy meters on the same power line:
Shelly Pro 4PM in mains box to monitor circuit power usage, then on this line multiple zigbee power plugs to monitor particular devices and extension cords, and then even another plug monitor “subpart” of that.
Is there any good way to use the energy dashboard with that setup, so it will know that plugs 1 and 2 are parts of Shelly’s office line, and plug 3 is part of plug 1 line?
By specification this “SCHUKO” type of sockets don’t allow be be plugged one after another. Extension leads should even carry a permanent marking “do not connect one after another” and some times even ship with a extra warning like this:
In best case (low/moderate load) nothing serious will happen but when things are pushed high the increased resistance can cause dangerous amounts of heat that can even let the plugs and socket melt.
Most people are not aware that for example a 16A rating on a device with SCHUKO plug is not mend for permanent usage. It is actually the peak usage specified for 16A which only needs to withstand this for 1 hour.
