Music Assistant 2.0: Your Music, Your Players

you can use icecast / darkice to stream it over the network and add it as radio url in MA

image

Did start up though

Logger: custom_components.mass
Source: custom_components/mass/config_flow.py:167

But other then that a nice new addition again.

The fact that I could stop here and get music playing in minutes after clicking this and installing from my phone while watching TV and having dinner is a true testament to how well thought out and user friendly this is.

Well done to all contributors!

Alexa Media Player Players are Not working, it says set the anouncement to true. Any ideas here?

Spotifyplus doesnt Work too

Both comes with the homeassistent Media Player function

Alexa is not supported.

Spotify plus is a good question. I don’t think we have seen anyone with that before I will have to ask.

Thank you, is much better than the original in my oppinion

I’ve been trying to get this to work so badly. Im using the Home Assistant companion app on Android to open Music Assistant but when I try to play it tells me that no player is selected, when I attempt to select a player it just won’t. I can turn on/off players and change the volume but that’s it.

Also, I’ve been trying to connect it to my Airsonic instance but it tells me that the rest API is incompatible. It also doesn’t detect any DLNA providers.

So far I was able to connect it to Spotify but that’s it. This looks so promising nevertheless!

I did all the setup in the HA mobile app. So I guess the browser is the embedded webkit engine. I also tried opening HA in mobile Safari and disabling all content blockers in case it was a limitation of the embedded browser in the app, but same behaviour, for both Tidal and Deezer.

If it’s known to not work at all on either the iOS app or mobile Safari, that’s kind of a problem. I haven’t had a chance to test a PC browser yet because I have small children. That’s also the reason for my more-or-less permanent brusqueness. Sorry about that.

We have some reports of this. Restart the addon and it should come good

How do I remove a link between players?

Clicking on the link button with a slash through it does nothing.

I have just yesterday identifed an issue with linking Airplay devices. What players types are you using? You might have to restart the addon

Home assistant media players.

Will the LMS server running on a dedicated Rpi in the same LAN work together without mutual influence MA?
I’d like to try it, but I don’t want to break a perfectly working LMS and its players.
Local music is located on the same SSD where LMS is running.

The docs are fully searchable

you cannot run a separate LMS server on your network if the MA slimproto provider is enabled.

I recommend monitoring this issue (although it isn’t exactly what you describe) and try again after it is resolved and a patch is released Unlinking Airplay players not working correctly · Issue #2239 · music-assistant/hass-music-assistant · GitHub

Thanks, I found it.
In this case, it’s nothing for me.

Hi @marcelveldt,

Thanks a lot for your hard work!. Regarding echo devices, I recommend you to take a look on this project. Echo devices are not so easy to stream music to them, but it seems rosskouk has found a good way.

This is a work of art. I was using the Sonos card. Don’t see any need to now. I have setup my local library through my Plex server which I already used for HA. Setup Tidal, authenticated first time. Set up all my Google devices, Chromecast. Worked perfectly.

Donation coming. Everyone should be donating. I am so excited to see this project grow and evolve. Be cool to see sleep timers and wakeup timers. Seems Sonos is now missing those in their new app.

Any chance of Sirius XM and their streaming service?

EDIT: I cannot find donate link at top of thread!

Anecdotal evidence for you, but I also experienced this when I installed it last night. Firefox user here too. It was resolved either with an addon restart, or a browser refresh – not sure which, only that it started working later in the evening!

I’m also using Plex by the way – not sure what the scenarios are that it’s not supported/doesn’t work for, but I’ve got Plex Media Player airplaying to a Sonos device and a HomePod Mini perfectly! Loving it, thanks everyone

Great news! Here is the link I want to help - Music Assistant

There is a draft PR to add SiriusXM support but the dev seems to have dropped off so if someone wants to pick that up feel free!
