I just received a Zooz ZST39 LR USB stick and am trying to configure it for LR mode. Zooz support says I need to set the region for USA in the add-on configuration right below the keys. I see keys for LR but no region setting at all. What am I missing?
Sorry, LR is not supported by HA yet. You’ll either need to wait until it gets implemented some day, or switch to Z-Wave JS UI which does support LR.
Your controller is already set to the US LR frequency though by default, but HA doesn’t support the ability to select LR mode when you scan a QR code.
Thanks. The fact that both addons have almost exactly the same name is what has been co fusing me I think. The guide shows using “open webUI” buttons in several places but I don’t see these buttons in HA?
It’s on the add-on’s page. Only Z-Wave JS UI has its own UI outside of HA.
I got the z-wave JS ui addon installed without any issues but can’t get my devices re-added in LR mode. They revert to zwave every time I add them.
The “Protocol” needs to be switched to Z-Wave Long Range before activating the provisioning entry and turning on the device. You must use SmartStart inclusion, LR is not compatible with classic inclusion.
I click the smartstart button in Zwave JS Ui and then the + button. Enter the dsk, name, location, protocol (zwave LR), S2 Access Control, S2 Authenticated and click Add. When they get added they display a protocol of zwave.
Try scanning the QR code.
That doesn’t give me the option to set the LR mode.
Then your devices don’t support LR. Only the 800-series versions of the Zooz devices (except for a couple) support LR.
Finally got it. Didn’t realize I couldn’t just use the Edit in the add on to change the devices to LR mode. After I excluded them in the integration I was able to go back to the add on and include them in LR. Noob mistake.
