So I love this dimmer, I’m just having a hell of a time finding an LED bulb that dims down low enough, it seems all the ones I’ve tried don’t even come close to the fluorescent bulbs that this replaced. I’m talking going down low enough for a nursery, puts the baby to sleep dim.
I’ve tried a few bulbs, including the philips dimmable warm glow bulbs, which got as close but still far from dim enough.
Anyhow have luck with finding good dimmable LED bulbs?
Also, are there settings for the HS-WD200+ that would set the dim ranges? Yeah, I get it’s on the LED light side, but there may be something that can tweak the dim levels. I’m hoping at least.
I’m also open to trying a totally different system, so many options around the dim game it’s hard to find an objective solution.
Update to the latest firmware and you have the option of adjusting the top/low end of the dim levels
For the best dim quality incandescent will still be your best option. I’ve still been able to find good 100Watt bulbs which are great for dim purposes.
Another option that i use that has a very nice low dim level and being able to adjust the “color” hue of the light are LIFX.
Thanks, this is the kind of information I’m looking for.
I looked into updating the HS-WD200+ firmware, bit of cost and work, $30 for the software with z-wave dongle from them. If there is another OTA to do it I’m all ears.
Will try the LIFX method, and if all fails, incandescent it is. Maybe at some point the LED bulbs will converge on some standard for dimming that will work across vendors, hope so at least.
