Need multibutton remote Zigbee control/switch for a handicapped person to control lights

Background: I had an extensive X10 system to assist our handicapped family member. Our new Enphase solar controller has rendered it unreliable, and at times unusable.

System: A new Home Assistant Green with Zigbee thumb.

Problem: person who needs control is elderly with Parkinson’s. The X10 remote (battery) and console switch (AC connected) were both easy for them to use, with distinct On and Off buttons.

The various switches I am finding are single, double, and long touch. Something a Parkinson’s suffer can’t do.

Need:

Has anyone found a 4 to 6 position Zigbee “switch” that works with Home Assistant and has distinct on/off positions or buttons for use by the unfamiliar?

My current approach:

I’m new to this, but the need is immediate. So I’ve ordered a six-pack of HA compatible door open/closed sensors. I’m pulling the guts, grabbing a bud box and a set of six panel toggle switches with distinct and visible on/off positions out of the basement, and building my own custom remote.

But I’d really like to find something more presentable as I have a guest room that provides a “no experience required” control for it. My home job is not going to be elegant or reasonably priced.

Hi ,

Try this.
Zemismart Tuya Zigbee 6 Gang Tuya Zigbee Wireless Switch Zigbee 3.0 Sticker Battery Power Remote Control.
And I have a blueprint for it.
🧯 Zigbee2MQTT - ZemiSmart ZM-RM02 Controller.

I have 2 of them. They have 6 buttons, each have single, double, and hold activation available so if you want to get complicated, that’s 18 things available. Zigbee.

I went with the Loratap buttons. I have two 4 gang and 1 6 gang. They do single click, double click and long press. Battery life and connection stability seem fine so far. This is with ZHA and Skyconnect dongle.
