Nest thermostat unavailable

Hi all,

For some reason my Google Nest thermostat integration isn’t working as of today, not sure why this happened. I can’t recall changing anything in HA, I’ve already tried rebooting a few times, doesn’t help.
Did Google change anything from their side, API wise perhaps?

Thnx

I have the same problem since yesterday.

I have two NEST devices, doorbell and thermostat. Until yesterday they worked fine on my HA, but now only the doorbell works.

I tried to delete the integration, and reinstall it, but only the doorbell detects me. I have also tried to generate new Google Cloud projects, and Google Device Access, but although the permissions appear on the consent screen for both devices, in the HA integration, it only detects the doorbell.

I would be very grateful for any input that would help to solve the problem.

Thanks.

Good to hear I’m not alone, fwiw my cameras are both working, doorbell and outdoor, it’s just the thermostat bugging out.

I checked the services status from Google, they should all be running so that shouldn’t be the problem. But very annoying nevertheless :pensive:

Same here, good to hear not just me.
First noticed last night, and like you no joy with restart or reload of the integration

I just checked, it happened on a restart on my side, I’ll dig in to it some more today

Same, after updating Home Assistant to .5, so after a restart indeed

I noticed there’s also some open issues on Github

Yes, I have the same issue after a restart. Revert to the previous version of HA does not fix the problem.

Same here, happened after a restart when installing 10.5 and only for the Nest Thermostat

Also have that issue, got error with integration because was still the old configuration, did everything from scratch and integration cant find the thermostat.

found this: Nest - Not returning device or entities · Issue #80675 · home-assistant/core · GitHub
devs are aware and saying is a problem on google’s side
lets hope it get fixed quickly

Do we know if it still an issue with the Nest API?

It started with not able to change temperature and it got a websocket error.

Now it is the issue when you change the temperature the device goes tto the off state.

I guess a lot of people do have this issue. And lot of same problems posted github.

Seems to be 1 big mess😅

Does it work, at lest getting the temperature?

I do revieve everything, but can’t set a temperature

I’m not able to retrieve any device. I also done the step from https://developers.google.com/nest/device-access/use-the-api and when I execute https://smartdevicemanagement.googleapis.com/v1/enterprises/XXX/devices I get {} in the body - no devices :frowning:

Mine also went unavailable after a system reboot.

NGL, with how awful google forced this integration to be enabled to force people into their spyware network I am tempted to just give the device away to someone and get something that isn’t managed by one of the most destructive entities on the planet.

Mine not working either, after reboot yesterday when doing a HACS update

Have any of you guys seen an update on this issue recently anywhere? Github is locked so can’t ask there unfortunately.

there hasn’t been one, the issue is on google’s end and they haven’t responded to any of the bug reports based on my reads of a bunch of the cascading threads.

I went ahead and threw in the towel and sold my nest to a neighbor and bought an ecobee. The nest I had was 10y old anyways, but still annoyed.
