New 2-way smart rotary dimmers

Hi everyone,

Just an update for you; we have launched a couple of new 2-way rotary dimmers.

These are the RD1, and the RD1-Pro. Both are compatible with our RD1C companion dimmer, but the RD1-Pro can also be set into remote mode for smart bulbs, and dual purpose mode to control both the wired load (via Home Assistant or other supported platforms, not Philips Hue bridge), and a remote device (using the knob).
We are currently taking pre-orders.

If you would like some more information please see our launch page and our category page:

And of course we’re here for any questions as well.

@Candeo I’m really interested in this. I love the C202 as it’s like a regular dimmer that anyone can use, but I want to be able to use smart bulbs to change colour temperature during the day (dim-to-warm bulbs seem like a deadend). I have a through lounge with 2 lights and am wondering how the controls would work with a RD1-Pro and an RD1C. Would they both dim both lights by default? If I wanted to control a specific light from either the RD1-Pro or RD1C, how would that work?

Hi Rajveer,

I’m glad our new dimmers have interested you.

Am I right in thinking both lights are currently controlled separately?
If so, are they part of an existing 2 way circuit?

It’s just that the RD1C can only work when wired in conjunction with a master dimmer, such as the RD1-Pro.

Hi,

these look great - I actually was just in the process of ordering a bundle which was discounted 20%, but when I went to pay it removed the discount and now I can’t see it on the site anymore, has the pre-order discount been discontinued or is this a glitch?

Also - if not running in dual purpose mode but running via the remote, will it run via the Hue bridge?

Thanks,
T

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your interest in the range.

Our pre-sales discounts officially ended on Sunday at 10pm.

If you are using the RD1-Pro directly with Hue then only dimmer mode is supported, but 2 way dimming is still supported with the RD1C.

I hope that helps.

Hi there,

This is a great addition for the European market! Can’t wait to try it out.

Could you kindly clarify what are the input/output clusters exposed on each endpoint in each mode? I’m curious if the RD1 Pro will be able to bind directly to zigbee bulbs.

Thanks,

Divino

I’ve been trying to find the size of the new RD1 without the wallplate, is it published anywhere? The wording of what I can see suggests it’s not as deep, is that the only measurement change? I’ve been hunting for a smart dimmer module I can fit two of into an existing wallplate (due to the house using the same style everywhere), but so far things like the 202 just seem ever so slightly too wide to fit.

Hi Roger,

Sorry for the delay replying.

The RD1-Pro dimmer (with no faceplate), is 59mm high, 22mm wide, and 26mm deep (not including the dimming stalk).

Hi, not related but I have a question for your wifi dimmer

C302-WF

Can I know if it’s still running on espressif chip so I can install tasmota? Or is it tuya beken

Hi,

Thanks for the question unfortunately that’s not information I can give out.

I have bought a couple of RD1-Pro and have them connected up to standard bulbs and integrated to HA via Hue. I regularly find that they come on at 1%, rather than at the last level. Is this by design, or is it a fault. It’s causing problems with Wife Approval, so much that I’m considering replacing with C202 if I can still get them. I have C202 elsewhere and it works fine.
