I just installed the current version of HA, primarily to manage a RadioThermostat wifi-connected thermostat (RT just announced they are discontinuing support for “the app” - meaning hopefully just the cloud-based portion and not local network access)
HA is working, and talking to the RadioThermostat (it gets temp data, I can set temp manually, enable hold mode, change HVAC mode etc).
But, I’m not seeing a way to change the temperature setpoint via automation (ie to create a daily schedule). Do I also need to add something like a generic thermostat in addition to RadioThermostat?
Unrelated question - is there a way to set custom NTP servers? Not seeing it in the web interface, and I’m still very early in the hassos learning curve.
BTW thanks and props to the HA and RadioThermostat module devs! The platform looks very flexible - I’m sure I’ll expand my usage of it in the future!
Like Mike, I have also built an HA server to replace the Radiothermostat cloud service (to be retired in May 2023). I am seeking to add functionality: schedule different target temperatures throughout the day for each of the 6 thermostats:
Radiothermostat support confirmed that all remote access (web as well as mobile app) will be decommissioned on May 15. They blame it on their backend provider instead of taking responsibility to offer a solution. After that date, they expect everybody to use them as standalone programmable thermostats that we could have bought for $20 instead of $200. Very disappointing.
There is a read/write JSON API inside the devices … also discussing this on Raymond’s thread here.
