Newbie idiot to HA and ZHA, currently battling LEDVANCE Bulbs

Ledvance has zigbee, wifi, and Bluetooth bulbs… there is a sylvania app for each respective type of bulb. Do you not have the packaging?
I had some sylvania WiFi bulbs I bought on accident and was able to use localtuya to control them…

Thanks but how did you get the bulbs connected to the tuya app ? mine are connected to the silvania app /the ledvance smart wifi app.

I tried that but the tuya cli just doesnt find the bulbs, got any idea why ?

All methods below require you to install the CLI tool before proceeding.

Install it by running `npm i @tuyapi/cli -g`. If it returns an error, you may need to prefix the command with `sudo`. (Tip: using `sudo` to install global packages is not considered best practice. See [this NPM article](https://docs.npmjs.com/getting-started/fixing-npm-permissions) for some help.)

## Listing Tuya devices from the **Tuya Smart** or **Smart Life** apps (highly recommended)

This method is fast and easy. If you're having trouble manually linking your device with the below method, we recommend you try this. All devices that you want to use **must** be registered in either the Tuya Smart app or the Smart Life app.

1. Follow steps 1 through 4 from the "Linking a Tuya device with Smart Link" method below.
2. Go to Cloud -> Project and click the project you created earlier. Then click "Link Device". Click the "Linked Devices by App Account" tab.
3. Click "Link devices by App Account" and scan the QR code from your smart phone/tablet app by going to the 'Me' tab in the app, and tapping a QR code / Scan button in the upper right. Your account will now be linked.
4. On the command line, run `tuya-cli wizard`. It will prompt you for required information, and will then list out all your device names, IDs, and keys for use with TuyAPI. Copy and save this information to a safe place for later reference.

## Linking a Tuya device with Smart Link

This method requires you to create a developer account on [iot.tuya.com](https://iot.tuya.com). It doesn't matter if the device(s) are currently registered in the Tuya Smart app or Smart Life app or not.

1. Create a new account on [iot.tuya.com](https://iot.tuya.com) and make sure you are logged in. Go to Cloud -> Project in the left nav drawer and click "Create". After you've created a new project, click into it. The access ID and access key are equivalent to the API key and API secret values need in step 6.
2. Go to App -> App SDK -> Develpment in the nav drawer. Click "Create" and enter whatever you want for the package names and channel ID (for the Android package name, you must enter a string beginning with `com.`). Take note of the **Channel ID** you entered. This is equivalent to the `schema` value needed in step 6. Ignore any app key and app secret values you see in this section as they are not used.
3. Go to Cloud -> Project and click the project you created earlier. Then click "Link Device". Click the "Link devices by Apps" tab, and click "Add Apps". Check the app you just created and click "Ok".

Yeah I tried all those steps, but it sadly still doesnt work, do you have any ideas what I could do ?

Try reading this post and a few posts after it also…

a few people mention having to reset the bulbs a couple times in order to get them to “fast blink”… also when I did it I ended up doing it only one bulb at a time which seemed to work a little better.

What command are you using the tuya-cli wizard or the tuya-cli link

And I am getting the api key and api secret from the tuya iot plattform website

I’m not sure why it is not working for you. For me my bulbs were upstairs, and as mentioned in one of those other threads that initial pairing connection is happening directly to the bulb from the device you are running tuya-cli on before it sends your SSID and password to the bulb so what I ended up doing was taking a laptop into the room with the bulbs and
running tuya-cli directly under the bulbs… I could never get all 3 to go at once so that’s why I ended up doing one at a time.

Do you have any info on the bulbs? Like a specific model/revision number on them? It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that some are coming with different chips than the original run that most people had. Also had you completely removed them from the sylvania smart life app?

Yeah I completely removed them from the app and my Model Number is LDVWIFIA100E27RGBW. I hope that helps and if its not the model number I would appreciate it if you could tell me where to find the model number.

I am also sitting right under the Bulbs with my computer.

I am having similar issue, I am running HA with a sonoff usb zigbee dongle, just bought a ledvance smart+ lighting zigbee, reseted it (it is blinking), but HA can’t find it. Do you have a solution for this?

Update Zigbee Coordinator firmware and use a long USB extension cable + follow general advice. See:

First batch came pre-flashing with older firmware from 20210120 which works out-of-the-box with ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT, however, it is highly recommended to at least upgrade to firmware Z-Stack 3.x.0 build 20211217 or later
- Other than many bug-fixes the newer firmware offer +9dBm transmission power instead (instead of +5dBm transmission power) as well as the possibility to configure up to +20dBm transmission power via software settings in ZHA integration and Zigbee2MQTT respectively.
To avoid EMF interference strongly recommended buy and use → Long USB extension cable
- Another reason for using a USB extension cable is that the USB-plug design of ITead’s Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus hardware adapter is a little short which makes it harder and sometimes impossible to plug it into some USB ports if the computer enclosure/chassis/casing is to thick around the USB-port as that will physically prevent the USB dongle from actually making a proper connection inside the USB port even if it looks like it is plugged in all the way that is possible.
- Also follow general tips in https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant.io/pull/18864 and https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha#best-practices-to-avoid-pairingconnection-difficulties as all Zigbee Coordinator adapters is very sensitive to EMI/RFI interference (e.g. a noisy radio frequency environment will jam the signal and prevent it from receiving all Zigbee messages to it without errors). Connecting the dongle via a long “shielded” USB extension cable in a USB 2.0 port or USB 2.0 hub (and not a USB 3.0 port) to get it away from EMF sources will usually help a lot if experiencing connection or pairing symptoms/issues.

Hi, were you able to solve this? I recently bought some SMART+ INDOOR SWITCH MINIs. When trying to pair them with the Sonoff stick they immediately abort the pairing, nothing can be seen in HA, like zha events or sth. I realised that they don’t support Zigbee 3.0 and only Zigbee Light Link but they still should work somehow, right?
Interestingly when I hold them to an Ikea Repeater they don’t fail to pair, but still I can’t see anything in HA, no device discovered or any event sent.
