Open Z-Wave Webinterface for HASS Frontend

Hi guys,

I already saw this feature running on HASS Frontend. Would highly appreciate to integrate this in Hass.

BTW: Awesome Software. U make an amaying job!!! Thanks for this!

Can you use the custom panel or ipanel and have it as one of the option on the right?

These will create a link where you now see states, map, history, ect. I have one for my router which when clicked goes directly to my router admin page for example.

My understanding was that you could not run the OZWCP while HA was running.

rpitera is right… we need a script stopping hass and starting ozwc.

this script could be a inout select but then you finally would have to open a site for the OZWC
i know someone already giot this running … but i dont find this person again :frowning:

I concur. I don’t like the thought that I’ve had to stop Home Assistant before I can run OZWCP. Pardon me for the “me, too” post; I simply want to add my thoughts about my experience with OZWCP and HASS.

It would simply be nice if OZWCP could simply communicate with Home Assistant, by telling Home Assistant to let go of Z-Wave USB temporarily without shutting down HASS entirely and then restart them back up. Or maybe share the USB connection or something… Think of OZWCP as an app for Home Assistant.

But unfortunately you can’t think of it that way because it is a separate project. What might work is it there was a way to stop and start HA’s control of zwave like a service.

Only thing i miss is the option to see/change parameters to my wave devices, also a way to see/change the groups and the way the devices are coupled to each other would be nice.

How about hass stopping all communication with Zwave when OZWCP process is active/open?

I like the idea of OZWCP always being the latest version. If you duplicate the UI code to hass, it also has to be maintained. Keep it simple?

Hi @thundergreen stumbled on your own solution for this by incident: https://github.com/thundergreen/home-assistant/wiki/Add-OZWCP-in-HASS.

Does it work without any issues? Does it survive updates since it is in the configuration file?

Going to try to implement this on my install to see. Thanks.

Just in case you weren’t aware, the core devs are working to bring most if not all of the functions of OZWCP to HA natively.
