pfSense: 169.254.169.254:80 blocked

I went into my pfSense and viewed the firewall logs. While in the log, I did a filter to list a source address of 172.20.*.* and saw a destination address of 169.254.169.254. As far as I know, anything that falls under 169.254 is an APIPA address.

The source IP address is 172.20.5.3 which Home Assistant 0.93.1 runs in (will do updating soon).
The destination is 169.254.169.254 with a destination port of 80 (HTTP).
The interface in my firewall in question is LAN.

I have remote access turned on for Home Assistant as I have a Home Assistant Cloud account.

Why is Home Assistant trying to communicate to 169.254.169.254 port 80?
