Pixel Watch 2: Local Home Assistant connection fails over Bluetooth after watch update

Hi everyone,

Since updating my Pixel Watch 2, Home Assistant no longer connects over Bluetooth through my Pixel 11 Pro XL. Everything worked last week. Only the watch received an update, and the problem seems to have started afterwards.

  • Wear OS 7.0, HA Companion 2026.6.5
  • Local HA instance using an HTTP IP address, no cloud
  • Phone connected to home Wi-Fi; HA works on the phone
  • Watch works over direct Wi-Fi, but over Bluetooth shows “Error loading entities” and the template tile won’t refresh
  • VPN is off. Restarting both devices and reinstalling the watch app didn’t help
