Nice. Im stil looking for something to add floorplans and add buttons on that floor plan. Perhaps a nice widget for future updates
LOL - I still have no idea why people like that idea, but sure, I can add it to the list of widgets, the sky is the limit
Sweet, definitely interested in testing when itās ready
Great stuff Andrew - I have been thinking of looking at a dashboard recently but really wanted to concentrate on the core system first. That and I am still renting, so my true HA dreams are yet to come to fruition!
How long do you think you will take to go BETA? I look at the old thread and its a bit of a monster, glad it was closed and hopefully we can get some good information on setup and some basic config for v2.
Well done by the way, I know it can often be a thankless taskā¦
The activity, inspiration, effort and contribution going into Home Assistant has been really amazing to witness. Almost Minecraft-like if that makes any sense.
I was just considering a go with HADashboard and here comes a newer version which would seem to have a better foundation. Guess Iāll go figure out AppDaemon so Iāll be preparedā¦
This looks great! I can also participate in the beta test if more testers needed.
Iām making good progress towards a beta. Yesterday I locked down a dashboard definition setup I am happy with. Now I need to look at installation and docs.
No dates yet, but I am making rapid progress, maybe a week or so?
The good news is you donāt need to go too much into AppDaemon if you just want to run the dashboard - itās just some extra config, no coding required.
This is phenomenal news. Definitely in for the beta. I have gotten no further than getting HADashboard running, fairly turned off by the completely different tech stack it uses from HA.
I already have wall mounted tablets, just waiting for this to be available!
Like others have stated Iām down for testing. I donāt have a lot going on in my HA yet other than 3-4 switches and a cam.
Iāve got a tablet that needs using for something useful. Instead of just Verizon charging me 10 dollars a month to have it and me leaving it dead 98% of the time.
So prerequisites are installing app daemon? Is that a side loaded type install?
Sorry Iām still quite new to all of this.
Itās a 3rd party addon and separate install yes.
Hold of until the Beta though because it is a new version of AppDaemon itself that has the dashboard code in it.
Sounds good thanks for the quick response. If it makes any difference the tablet I will be using is an Ellipsis 8. It was a free-bee from Verizon 2 years ago on a Black Friday deal.
Presumably Android? I have tested on iPads but it should work fine.
Yes, I canāt recall what version of the Android OS.
I was running my old dashboard on Android for a while, the new version uses similar web technologies so it should work OK, plus I have been testing on Chrome.
Awesome. I look forward to your release. Thanks for all the hard work. Iām a Server Admin, but this coding stuff makes me feel like a rookie.
Man thatās looking great. Can wait to use it on my wall mounted tablets.
Would love to run this under a docker container! Count me in
