Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts & Other News

When 8.0 came out (beta) the source had to be changed. The Proxmox VE Post Install script should correct them.

Thank you again @tteck ! So, I will just update normally and then run the post pve install scripts!

I got it working with the latest update to 8.1.5. I applied the scripts after that with success! Thank you ! coffee is coming to your way soon!

Frigate LXC test script

I personally don’t use Frigate, but there have been numerous requests for a version that doesn’t require Docker. While I can’t confirm its efficacy or even if it works correctly, this version leverages hardware acceleration, USB passthrough, Coral drivers, TensorFlow, go2rtc, FFmpeg, and more—all without Docker

I’m giving this a try, had an error but it has created the container.
Am running Bookworm so the Bullseye template was downloaded.

Used the default settings, what are the default credentials?

There is none. It is crucial not to exit the Proxmox shell while running scripts. Leaving the shell during script execution will result in the script being interrupted.

Bookworm will not work, Bullseye only for now.

The Bullseye script got downloaded, isn’t that OK, even on Bookworm OS?

Error:

[ERROR] in line 23: exit code 0: while executing command "$@" > /dev/null 2>&1
The silent function has suppressed the error, run the script with verbose mode enabled, which will provide more detailed output.

Hi and thank you. I have used your scripts here and there with great success. I was wondering about the MariaDB as you have it aimed towards replacing the HA recorder db. Curious is this is still beneficial?

I am not a DB person so have basically no knowledge of the inner workings but was wondering about doing it since you have made it so simple to create an LXC and point HA to it.

Given the recent enhancements in the SQLite database, I’ve opted to return to using the built-in DB instead of PostgreSQL. Unless there’s a specific requirement for an external database, I’d suggest sticking with the built-in option.

I had the opportunity to interact with him quite some times on the forum & by chat.
His passion for this was just nice to experience!
I’m really saddened by the news of him passing away.

For those who haven’t seen this yet, from: GitHub - community-scripts/ProxmoxVE: Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts (Community Edition)

The Proxmox Helper Scripts project is community-driven, and we highly appreciate any contributions — whether it’s through reporting bugs, suggesting features, improving documentation, or spreading the word. We are committed to maintaining transparency and sustainability in this open-source effort.

:sparkling_heart: Donate to Support the Project

We offer two donation options to help maintain and grow this project:

  • Ko-Fi for tteck: Donate to tteck’s wife - All donations will go directly to Angie, wife of the founder of this project who passed away in early November 2024.
  • Ko-Fi for Community Edition: Donate to this project - All funds will go towards script maintenance infrastructure and server costs. Our most immediate need is funding testing infrastructure. Your contributions help keep the project running. To honor tteck’s legacy this project will also raise money for charity (cancer research, hospice care). Of the money donated to this project, 30% will be donated to charity. Income, expenditure and charitable donations will be disclosed annually in a transparent manner.

This is from tteck’s wife, Angie, also on GH:
Good afternoon! I am tteckster’s wife. I don’t have a clue if anyone will even see this because I’m not the computer savvy person that my husband was, but I wanted to try. I know that he posted an update regarding his health the other week, and I wanted to let you all know that he passed away a few days ago. If anyone sees this, maybe you could make a better post. Thank you for all that supported him. Angie

This is Angie, and to say I am overwhelmed by all the comments, thoughts, love, prayers, and condolences is an understatement. As well as the donations. My husband loved this site, and he was passionate about computers, coding, and all the stuff that goes with it. He showed me a lot of the comments that were made when he posted about his cancer and it made him smile. Thank you all for the love and support that you have shown to him, and now me.
He would be amazed that I even found his sight and was able to make a post. Thank you all again, it warms my heart that he touched so many lives.
