Are you using any remote access solution, which can be used for webhooks and call backs?
I don’t think so. Last 3 years I happily used the august integration. Don’t understand why I can’t get the same via the Yale integration.
As an addition, in the line of the black webpage, I see my phone number, which I didn’t use as input in setting up the integration.
The address which is opened by Home Assistant does not contain any phone number, neither email address or anything similar.
Do you have any other Yale integration set up? Maybe have you ignored the Yale integration before?
I can just guess what can be wrong, but without knowing how is your Home Assistant setup, it is quite hard, and showing just a black screen with a 404 error is not really helpful. The integration setup should redirect you to a login page where you should log-in with your email and password. It should not include in the link your phone number. After logging in it will ask you that will you allow Home Assistant to access your Yale Account. Then you say yes and everything is set up, directed back to the app and that’s it.
I use it with NabuCasa and no issues there.
I found the issue …. I probably used the wrong log in credentials the first time. Home assistant seems to remember these. So every time the integration opened the website of Yale (aaexosystem… etcetera…) it automatically used the wrong credentials.
In the integration menu, there are 3 dots next to “helper”, here were the credentials for log in. I deleted them and now it worked very smooth
Thank you for your help.
No fixes for keys not being grabbed for yale ble?
All the GitHub issues for problems with “Yale” products seem to lead to this thread now. I’m in North America, and afaik I shouldn’t be impacted by this migration, and still use August integration for Assure Lock 2. However, these issues are happening to me:
Is there any investigation or news going on for August integration?
Thank you!
The old API will stop working permanently on December 16th, 2024. Please be sure to migrate before that time if you have not already done so.
I can’t seem to add the Yale Home integration to my HA. It brings me to the website but I cannot login. It says Invalid user/pass. If I try to do Forgot password, it tells me my phone # is not registered. I can login to my Yale account on the app just fine. Am I missing something?
Which country are you in and which app exactly you are referring to?
The Yale Home app requires an email and phone number. You should have both working and registered to have an account.
Hey there,
I am located in the US and have the Yale Access app, my profile shows my email address and phone #.
If you are in the US, continue using the August integration which supports the August and Yale Access brands. No migration is needed.
I appreciate it, I can try that. I bought the zwave version and would prefer not to use wifi due to battery life. The integration page says a wifi connect bridge is required. Should I figure the wifi out as well?
Cheers
It would be useful if you would not just drop feed information on the device which you are seeking support on…
So which model you have? How is it working with the Yale Access app, if you don’t have a Connect Wifi bridge? I am quite confused…
Could you please provide detailed information, then we can somehow tell you what you can and cannot do?
I have the YRD420-ZW2-619. It has the Z-wave smart module. I set up the lock assumingly via Bluetooth (as I can only connect to it via the app when I am close to it), and shortly after added the lock to my HA instance through Z-wave (Zooz stick). However, just through Z-wave I am only really able to lock/unlock. I assume the integration is where it adds more functionality like code management, etc. via HA rather than via the app.
I specifically wanted to go with Z-wave due to lower power consumption. If the connect bridge is necessary for full functionality I’ll pick one up.
I apologize if I sound uneducated. I’ve got plenty of stuff integrated with my HA that I’ve done without issue, this one is just throwing me through a loop since there are so many integration options.
The only advantage that the Connect Bridge would give you, is that you will receive information on the Operator who opened the lock, if that model supports that.
Code management wasn’t the purpose of the integration as I recall, but rather to be able to add it to Home Assistant and control from it (lock/unlock). But @bdraco can correct me if I am wrong.
Do you have DoorSense? Then it would tell you if the door is open or closed.
Maybe discuss your question and issues in this topic, the user seem to have a similar lock as you.
For code management it seems you can use the Z-wave module.
No worries. Yes, that one is a quite complicated one, as there are multiple options. But you need to understand that Yale/August sells products in multiple continents with different product ranges and communication protocols. Including Bluetooth, Zwave, Zigbee and throught the Connect Bridge - Wifi as well…
Edit:
Maybe this discussion will help as well:
Or this one:
Or just do a search on the forum for Yale Assure Lock 2 Zwave
…
Much appreciated - it did come with Door sense, I’ve just not installed that part yet. Thank you for all of the links. Looks like I’ve got some reading to do!
I have it added to Z-wave fine but functionality seems limited so perhaps I’ve mucked something up lol.
Cheers!
It is not clear for me from those discussion what is the ZW2 and ZW3 module support exactly. But I just skimmed through…
Hi,
I am using the yale assure lock 2 here in indonesia, which i brought over from the USA. The lock is connected by bluetooth method only via esphome bluetooth proxy. Home assistant just updated to 2024.12. My lock is still working using the yale bluetooth integration and august integration. I can lock/unlock using the HA app on my android while connected to my home wifi, and get almost instantaneous updates regarding the door status via door sense. I Dont even have the yale home login. When setting up the lock 5-6 months ago , i had downloaded yale access app and august app APK , and initially logged in via VPN, as i had heard these locks are region locked.
So, do i need to migrate to yale home integration or just keep going. The lock is super important to me as it is the only lock i have on my main entrance.
Thanks
Ash
Locks that are intended for use in the USA should continue to use the August integration and should not migrate.
Hi Nick,
Thanks for replying… great relief…
