Refresh Button after updating or installing a card from HACs

HACS brings up a repair to restart Home Assistant after installation or updating of an integration.

But still gives a warning to “manually refresh the front end after installation” why can this not just bring up the same or similar dialogue once the update is complete?

Perhaps because they are different processes to meet different needs.

Possibly, I don’t mind hitting Ctrl+R to refresh but it seems like an easy enough thing to add. Especially for new users and those wondering what “reload front end means”

If it was “an easy thing to add” it would allready be there
Currently Home Assistant does not expose a way to do this.

Hello Andrew,

This appears to be a Frontend Related Feature Request as it is asking for changes to Dashboards or Sections.

These Feature Requests are handled in a different system, and will not be seen by the right people here.

@Sir_Goodenough Thanks for that information, I searched HACS to try find an feature request section but it seems to be disabled giving a 404 error.

I will raise one where you have pointed out but it is actually from the HA Settings screen the request is aimed at.

Well I thought your question was about how Home Assistant Dashboards was displaying information.

If you are looking for a change the the HACS Integration, this is the wrong place all together as HACS is it’s own GitHub repo and is a custom integration.

IMO this is the place for it, as it has to originate from the backend.

As for the references to HACS, just ignore those.
The request is the same regardless of how the thing is downloaded and added to the configuration.
