I have bought and installed a new ReoLink E1Pro camera.
Using the ReoLink app, I can perfectly log into the camera with my username/password via my mobile phone and my established LAN connection (local IP (DHCP) = 192.168.178.174).
This also works from my PC after I downloaded the Windows application to try an alternative access.
Pinging the camera from my LAN also works.
Conclusion: The new camera ReoLink E1 Pro itself works perfectly fine on my LAN.
PROBLEM: What does not work is the Home Assistant integration.
I use the Home Assistant standard integration
Add integration
Select ReoLink IP NVR/camera
Problem: I just cannot get it to work:
I always get the Home Assistant error:
Connection denied, verify the IP-address of the camera
But: the IP address is correct and Home Assistant has detected it even automatically.
I have also entered the password several times, verifying it by using the Reo mobile app and the Reo PC application, it works.
What I already did: I have run the usual tests:
Reboot the computer
Reboot ReoLink (with and without unplugging the power cable)
Reboot the Home Assistant
Logging in and out of the ReoLink camera
Login with and without port: 80, 443, 9000 (basic services)
Edge and Opera browsers have been tried
Firmware is up-to-date
What else: Configuration via the Reo Camera App
Additional administrator created in ReoLink camera and logged in as this user
RTSP and ONVIF enabled
UPnP enabled
Illegal logon disabled
Any ideas where the problem could be?
e.g. do I have to use a static IP address mandatorily?
PS: What I have not yet managed to do is to connect to the camera via http(s), e.g. http://192.168.178.174:80 or https://192.168.178.174:443…
leads to an error
But: if I look at the ReoLink support page, then I think I can read there that this “direct” access is not supported for this camera.
I own reolink cameras but have not yet integrated them. I have read about a reolink hub that is in the EUR 100.00 price range that integrates with HA but don’t know anything else.
Here is a link to a length “article” about the topic from the HA community
As compared to a lot of other Reolink cameras (not all), if you’re in the Reolink PC Windows app (just referencing what I use), and go into the settings of the E1 Pro, then go Network > Advanced > Server Settings, you’ll notice that the E1 Pro is decisively missing options for HTTP, HTTPS, etc. It has only RTSP, then ONVIF as a sub-setting of RTSP. I’m no cam expert… not even close. But I have ten Reolink cams, and I know that I never got the E1 Pro working within the Reolink integration of Home Assistant.
The good news is that if you’ve gone into the settings of the cam, as I’ve described above, and turned on RTSP and ONVIF, you’ll be able to install the ONVIF integration into Home Assistant and use it there with most of the functionality and sensors. I personally am in it for the snapshot image alone, refreshing every ten seconds (just a Home Assistant view of the inside of my garage), so I can’t help any further with video quality or anything. But I hope this helps!
I can’t agree, my E1 Pro camera has options for both http and https in the settings.
I don’t have ONVIF integration installed but only Reolink and the camera with this integration works perfectly including all sensors, 57 entities in total and PTZ control.
I have E1 Pro and I also can’t integrate it with Home Assistant. I see that these cameras have different hardware versions. Maybe that’s the reason I have IPC_566SD54MP I tried integration on firmware IPC_566SD54MP.2647_23083100.E1-Pro.GC4023.4MP.WIFI8812.PT.REOLINK and IPC_566SD54MP.3149_2401092478.E1-Pro.4MP.WIFI7.PT.REOLINK but without success. What hardware and firmware version do you have?
Did you enable HTTP through desktop application or mobile application? Do you have E1 Pro connected over Hub/NVR or directly to HA?
Did you buy it in Europe or somewhere else?
Thanks!
