Can you actually turn off 2FA after you have enabled it with Ring? I didn’t allow Ring to enable it when prompted, so the fix works fine for me, but I don’t know if the people who did enable it can turn it off.
I did just that before the fall over
Turned it and reboot HA and was getting text messages and realised the 2FA isnt going to work with HA so I turned it off
You can Turn it off in the app at anytime under your account setting
I was having the same issue. Just updated to HA 0.103.3. Update resolved the problem. No config changes were necessary. Just update and now it’s working.
I have updated to 0.103.3 and still having the same problem even after reboot. Also I don’t have TFA turned on
Also confirmed for me. I’ve pulled the latest docker image 0.103.3 and replaced the old version. Ring service restored. Incredible work, thanks all!
did you do the custom_component ?
is so remove it
To those that have got Ring working with 103.3, are you using the MQTT and Ring addon? I’ve updated but continue to get the error.
Sensors

Ring entry

username: !secret ring_username
password: !secret ring_password
binary_sensor:

camera: - platform: ring
switch: - platform: ring

About the same behavior here, ring was broken on both my home assistant installations, upgraded to 103.3 and hass.io is working again properly.
My manual installed version (pip3 install) does not display errors when starting, however no ring sensor / switch / camera is available either.
Guess need some work here (installed ring 0.2.5 component, did not solve the problem)
Can I suggest remove the pickle file from the .storage folder
All good here again. Removed the custom_component fix, upgraded to 103.3 and it’s all working again.
Pickle File, Is that the camera file?
Found it, removed it and it is now restarting. Logs basically say nothing (normally they tell pretty good what is going wrong).
But your suggestion solved the problem, ring sensors are back again.
Thanks
I still have the error. error 401 unauthorized for url. I can and just did log in from my phone, so that still works. I can see live video and notifications on the phone / android app.
I never loaded the custom stuff, I did upgrade to .102.2 then .102.3. When that didn’t work I removed the pickle file and the error is the same. The Pickle file has not re-appeared yet however. Maybe I need to wait more than a half hour.
Not using Camera and do not have a camera subscription any longer. Using sensors and binary sensors.
Maybe I have to sign up again to get the sensors working again? That would be unfortunate.
You should have a login for ring.com. It does not read your doorbell/camera, but it reads the ring.com website
either you have 2FA on or you have incorrect password in your configuration, YES / NO / MAYBE / NO WAY
sorry Its all i got for you
No 2fa.
It worked until I loaded 102.2, so I suspect the password is still ok, that was not changed to-date (from new…)
I will try to change the password in the app.
Just wondering out loud if others are using this without the subscription to the cameras, that may be my problem.
