Hi

I’m having troubles… and this is very important :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m using the HA addon and mqtt
So i think i have the old board, as far as i can remember when i set it up.

However yesterday i had 2 alarm warnings at home, once at 13u and one in the evening.
Problems i have:
I had no warning at all from home assistant (for me warnings for burglar, CO , fire and even sabotage should give me persistant notifications until i turn it off.

So i had totally nothing

Then when i heared there was an alarm, i tried to turn it off using home assistant, but i couldn’t, dunno why it didnt work.

What is happening here?

Now i just looked into the addon → log and i see this:

Nobody? For me this is a serious integration and i want it to be trustable.

I think most people are using the integration, not the addon …
Anyway , probably your automations are not setup correctly

Is there anyone else who after the latest HA core update (2025.1.1), lost Risco’s integration binary sensors state update (polling)?

Yes, it is. I’m trying to find to solution too… I can only say that I just rolled back my HA to v2024.12.1 (I am having Truenas snapshots of my HomeAssistant VM) and risco cloud responds and works as it used to be so the only problem is somewhere in HA :frowning: Anyway somebody should do the hard work and fix it!

I just moved to a new house with a Risco Agility 3 system already installed. It only has a Sim card module and I was wondering if it was worth purchasing an IP module (RW132IP, about 120 euros) to control the alarm locally with Home Assistant.
Is the local integration good enough? I have the alarm “installer code” and I do not want to use the risco cloud at all (Is it possible to completely setup the module without the Risco cloud or any Risco app?)

Yes, you can use the fully local mode and it’s very stable

I have the same keyboard, once you install the IP module you should be fine. Check my previous message on how to find the correct PIN code to use while connecting the app (you can find it using the “installer code” but it’s different.

Just to leave here a note: I always use my system with “forced activation”, that is I want it to activate in away mode even if some windows or doors are open. I set it up this way in the main board, and it works just fine when inserting with the stock NFC tag, it also used to work with HA: I set away mode in HA and the alarm activated even with windows open; then some time ago it stopped working: activating it with a door or window open triggers an error in the HA addon.
So I wrote a phyton script that checks for open windows, activates bypass mode for them and then activates the alarm (and notifies me on my phone that some window have been left open so I can check back if that wasn’t right).
If anyone is interested just ask.

You can achieve this with an automation. Not exactly the same, but very similar - I have a template sensor for all the bypassed zones, and it triggers a notification whenever the alarmed is armed with bypassed zones.
You can have a template sensor for all the triggered zones, and build your automation on top of it.

Yes, but my problem is that I simply can’t arm with an automation if a window is open, having the notification is just a nice adding to the main problem, that is to bypass the non secure zones before arming with an automation.

I can create a list of duplets that correlates the binary_sensor for the opening with its bypass switch, and process them. Maybe it’s doable in an automation but I never find a way,

Here’s a template that gets all triggered zones:

You can then see if it’s not empty, and convert to a list of the bypass entities for the relevant zones.

Yes, this could work also. I resorted to the python script because I already use it for something similar where the 2 sets don’t come from the same integration and have a very different name scheme, so it’s harder to couple them. Your method is probably better because it will follow any addition/change in the names or integration without any need to modify anything.

Nothing’s perfect - my template will break if the integration id changes (though it will be trivial to fix), or if new binary sensor types are added to the Risco integration (a little harder to fix, but not too bad).

This is the template I use to count the open doors (i have one similar for windows, it’s pretty easy to combine them). It works as long as all the “windows” objects come from the Risco integration), I also have an “area filter” because I have a second set of openings that is not under Risco:

This seems of interest to me…

I’m not a coder/script writer by any means. But is this checking if any sensors on windows and doors are open when the alarm sets?

I have a few Risco sensors but many more generic Zigbee ones for window openings. All of which I’d like to be notified/checked for, when the full alarm is set.
