Rollease Acmeda Automate Pulse hub integration

Hello All -
Forgive me for reviving an ancient topic: the Pulse v1 hub!

Once the aiopulse integration got into the HA core, I switched to using that rather than my old RS485-connected home-grown code. In general, the integration worked well - occasionally blinds would not get their instructions, but we have a largish house and 14 blinds, so I wasn’t too surprised.

People’s reports of the v2 hub didn’t seem to be a great improvement (correct me if I’m wrong), so when I found that my supplier still had stocks of the v1 hub, I bought a second one. This works fine in the Rollease app… but not quite in the HA integration.

I started to dig into the code, but it was obviously going to be a bit of a challenge to reverse-engineer the issue, so before I either spend a lot of time on it, or return it for one (or perhaps two?) new v2 hubs, I thought I’d ask whether anyone else is successfully using two v1 hubs with the standard integration?
My ‘new’ hub has noticeably older firmware than the old one, which might be an issue… but I can’t find a way to upgrade it, and Rollease tech support don’t respond.

Any thoughts or advice most welcome!
Quentin

I’m in Australia and have battery powered blinds that run off a MT02-0101-067008 remote from automateshades.com. I was hoping I can learn the codes from the remote via a Sonoff RF bridge flashed with Tasmota and Portisch but the RF bridge doesn’t respond to button presses.

The next best option is to consider HA integration via the Rollease Acmeda integration (Rollease Acmeda Automate - Home Assistant) but I don’t have the Automate Pulse Hub v1.

A Google search didn’t yield anything meaningful. I know this hub seems to be discontinued but I’m ok with even a used unit. Cant find anything in Australia.

Any leads?

I’m in Australia. I use the Pulse 2 hubs for my motorised curtains. If your product works with this hub the integration has been great with HA. My RF remotes for ceiling fans are integrated using a Bond Bridge. You can use this bridge for many different devices.

Ok if I understand this correctly for the HA integration of the motorised blinds I only need a Pulse 2 hub and don’t need the Bond bridge, right? It’s good to know the Pulse 2 hub integrates with HA. I was looking for the v1 hub as I was hoping it would be cheaper as $300 is quite steep.

I’ll confirm with the supplier of my blinds if this product is compatible with the Pulse 2 hub

That’s correct. You’re remote is ARC motor compatible, as is the Pulse 2 hub https://www.automateshades.com/resource/new-product-leaflet-push15-channel-remote/

Looking at the Bond Bridge app it also supports the Rollease ARC motors so that could be a cheaper option for you.

While not directly related to the topic, have any of you retrofitted your manual blinds with ARC compatible motors that work with the v2 hub? A quick search has so far shown motors (battery operated) in the region of A$350+ which is ridiculous.

I’ve seen them for about $200. I have a 3D printer however and have made adaptors for my blinds in the past should it not fit as there are so many different tube types.

Re the Bond Bridge (I’ve never used it nor seen it), worth checking if it supports 2 way communication so you can get the current position of the blinds (and optionally battery voltage and signal strength), can be handy for automations.
