are you sure you are in the / ?
type … cd /
then type ls -la
Don’t see it anywhere
right, something is wrong , you still have your /config there … very odd
You should have /homeassistant, and not the /config
Well then, there we are.
try typing
cd config
and paste result
To clarify, everything in the system is running as expected.
It’s just this Samba share addon that I’m having issues with.
however i also see you have a homeassistant.log.fault with same timestamp, thats from your update-time, i would look in that , and maybe do a rollback and apply the 2023.11.2 again
good to hear, you could also try to rename the config-folder, but i would rather check the logs, maybe the update had issues, and you are better of applying it again
PS: everything elsewhat we just looked at looked ok beside the /config
What are the implications of simply renaming the directory, would this break references to it elsewhere?
Something is holding on to it , and everything crashes
PS: As you have the symlinks, and so, it seems like, the update did a part, but maybe was unable to “touch” the /config folder
Right.
Just so I’m clear… Are you saying that officially, ‘config’ should have changed to ‘homeassistant’ somewhere along the way during system upgrades?
If so, do you know with what release?
2023.11.2 , i believe, same time when you got your symlinks in /root and /config
Yes
for some reason it wasnt changed, so i would “restore from latest backup” , and install the update again, make sure you dont have anything i.e Windows blocking samba, or other Manually references to /config which could prevent the update from changing name during the restart
If you know you have hardcoded references to /config, , try disable whatever it might be
Not sure what you all are on about, but please don’t panic. There is no need at all to change anything ?
Everything works just fine with the new folder name at least in my complex config.
If the devs decide to move back to using /config, we sure will be notified to update the add-on.
Until then, just continue using HA like before?
This seems to do so already
Yes works fine for me, but latest Poster above me, still have /config in the file-structure, evrérything else is changed ( symlinks etc ) , but for some reason he still have /config, and therefore cant acces neither /homeaassistant nor /config through Samba
Did you update the samba add-on? ( so not only the core update but the add-on explicitly )
? i didn’t update anything but 2023.11.2, today, but yes yesterday i updated samba , and have no problems
In which order above jockey updated i don’t know, but he did update both, it seems
If I where to guess, it looks like they are running an old supervisor (Dev) version from before this was implemented.
Let’s wait for devs to chime in and don’t manually edit folder names…
Have not specifically updated samba, but only added it today.
Shows as v11.0.0
