This seems to be a unique option. However you could achieve this with a custom automation for your by-pass and then use the by-pass in the sensor light blueprint. I would do this.
Create a blank automation.
Your trigger is state, your motion sensor to OFF for X amount of time.
Looks like you updated for and older version. Form time to time things need to be done when updating and I do document this. You can miss it though and links are provided in the FAQ if you would like to go done the road. For this one I would recommend you just delete the automation (not the blueprint) and create a new one. It then will clean up everything and you won’t miss anything that was required to do.
Thanks for quick response, I did a rollback to a few hours ago, now theres everything ok. Maybe I messed up things, will have a look into the FAQ later.
Hi! Thanks for the awesome blueprint.
I was wondering if you could enable the use of scripts also for the “Scenes - Scripts To Turn OFF” section…it only allows scenes to be selected there but i would like to use a script.
Thank you so much. I got it to work as I wanted. Thank HA dev for the Automation trace feature, I was able to figure it out with the help of the trace feature and a couple of tries.
Turns out I had to put my TV state binary sensor as well as the light entity itself in by-pass option 3 as well as select the corresponding auto-off checkbox. Then I made sure both standard off-delay and bypass offdelay values were equal.
Works like a charm. The light will turn ON on motion but the automation will not trigger on motion if the TV is ON. In all cases, the light will turn itself off after the expiry delay, whatever the external conditions.
The lights will stay ON if the motion sensor detects motion before the time delay turns the lights OFF. It will then reset the time delay after last motion is detected.
Still after the delay is up, we are still in the room, the lights turns off.
Checking the log in HA; it says that the Automation is still running.
I’ve browsed through the FAQs and also read some things that are already going in that direction, but I’m not quite sure, maybe you have a tip for me.
Since I am currently restarting Homeassistant a lot and optimising again and again, I wanted to ask how you set this after a restart of HA or how can I set it to check whether the lights are on and the automation is triggered once after the restart, so that the light goes out after the time has elapsed?
Currently, they remain on because there is no trigger after a restart. If the light in the room is not on after a restart and there is no movement, it should of course not turn on.
Blacky, not only that they are ingenious blueprints, but also the way you really go about almost every topic is sensational, thank you! Wish you and everyone else a good start to the new year. Best regards, Seger
Same error here I’m on ver 2.8 of sensor light but latest ver of HA and started having some glitches so i came here to update and github is gone and so is the import blueprint functionality
Hope everything is going OK in github land. I just saw that your hub is now showing " Blackshome doesn’t have any public gists yet". Happy new year, cheers.
