What, exactly, does this mean:
“You need to manually clear the frontend cache after updating.”
WTF is a frontend cache?
And how do I clear it?
thanks
chris

This appeared on my desktop in The Brave Browser
cheers
It means clear the cache in your browser. Cache is simply saved pictures files etc which allow Web pages to load quicker. Ctrl + F5 will do it. You may not have to do it every time but if you ever have anything strange happen in the ui it should be the first thing you do.
There is a long thread about that topic
If you are in a browser, it just means to clean your browser cache.
Hi Chris, if still not clear have a look at this: "brave browser" clear cache at DuckDuckGo

Language, sir.
there’s lots of possibilities for the WTF acronym.
They could have been asking “where’s the fridge?”.
lighten up.
That doesn’t fit into that sentence and the subject is the frontend cache.
Using that abbreviation is against interpreted as against the COC and the OP is kindly reminded of it.

Just to conclude the conversation:
Frontend Cache means nothing whatsoever to the average computer user…
I’m a fairly sophisticated user and had no idea what it meant.
Thank you to the person whose suggested Ctrl-F5.
That was useful information.
I thought it meant what the fuck
Admins may bend COC in any way, no problem)
Swearing isn’t against coc…
thanks for clarifying that.
I read the COC again and I didn’t see anything in there either.
I guess it could be “sexualized language” but I didn’t think that’s what that means. I take that to be sexual harrassment type stuff.
Could be just a poor vocabulary manner. Especially with a “clown-y” post with list of definitions.
Geeze.
Didn’t mean to create a firestorm.
The Streisand effect is well and fully engaged on this one.
To be fair: you have only enforced it with that post about all the possible acronyms.
Also, I understand that you don’t know what frontend cache is: you could have opened my link to read about the meaning.

Final comment:
If @Ildar_Gabdullin had taken the opportunity to PM me about the topic, I would not have thought twice about it.
Instead, it was chosen to publicly “discipline” me, so I chose to respond in kind.
The insinuation that there was vulgarity involved in my post was his, not mine, and my response was just to highlight exactly that.
Let’s consider the topic closed.
can we drop this please?
